JTS Improvements - Want More

While I have thought our current press box is small. One question I have had for those who want a larger box with suites is "How much would they cost and do we currently have a waiting list for people who want one". You need demand before you spend big bucks to build suites.
In our current financial situation without a large influx of money, no way could ISU afford to build what would have to cost anywhere from $100 to $200 million to take down and redo the entire press box from goal line to goal line.
You build today for future demand, and much like Iowa did when they rebuilt their northern end zone. Lots of high demand seats, semi private, much like the Sukup area. People were saying the same thing about bowling in the south end zone, "wait until we are selling out every game and then do it", was heard often, and they were wrong.
If money was no problem ISU should enlarge the press box, and then take out the bleachers on both sides and replace them with seats with cupholders. What you would lose in capacity, would be evened out by the new press box area, keeping seating roughly where we are at now.

Depends on how big the Powerball jackpot I win is.

Building from a donation is pure revenue flow

People need to accept that there's probably not good to be any new renovations/expansions outside of upkeep at Jack Trice for the foreseeable future. Unless one of you marry the next CEO of Oracle or something...

There will probably have to be something with hilton at some point as its looking pretty rough from the outside. But you're right that the grander plans that were initially proposed are likely a long way away, and JTS is essentially "complete" for the time being. And really its at the point where there's not much more you can do to it that isn't a huge project like redoing one of the sides, and that kind of thing was probably decades in the future even before Covid\NIL hit the budget.

Its too bad NIL didn't happen like 5 years later. That major hilton modernization was really the last big piece that needed to get done (beyond dreams of more grandiose improvements) and it probably would have with a few more years. Hopefully someday.

Is this supposed to be a news flash?

All anyone here is doing is dreaming. Including about marrying CEO’s or something.

Anyone know why they've seemingly halted all major construction activities on the clinic building over the past several weeks? Is that normal?

100% this

Unless we are being lied to, or the ISU Foundation wants to come out of pocket, we are set on facilities for awhile.

Those are really close together, seems like that will just make it harder to mow/maintain. Almost looks like it's been done to prevent tailgating on the grass.
Well, that grass is MacFarland territory. Whatever landscape architect threw together the plan might have been thinking more about “this looks cool” than tailgating.

And without seeing it, I’m guessing it’s sets of three trees on all sides.

We need "SEC Lights" for the night games. Waukee NW even has them.

Would have been amazing for that white out. Flashing Red after a score. That's a pretty low hanging fruit that is reasonable.

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure those are being installed next year or 2027. But who knows, they already had to cut the video board budget short this past year by not expanding the south board from end to end.

It makes you wonder how much it costs to upgrade the lights? Cant be more than a million? Could be dead wrong but lights feel like a cheap upgrade.
