In our current financial situation without a large influx of money, no way could ISU afford to build what would have to cost anywhere from $100 to $200 million to take down and redo the entire press box from goal line to goal line. While I have thought our current press box is small. One question I have had for those who want a larger box with suites is "How much would they cost and do we currently have a waiting list for people who want one". You need demand before you spend big bucks to build suites.
You build today for future demand, and much like Iowa did when they rebuilt their northern end zone. Lots of high demand seats, semi private, much like the Sukup area. People were saying the same thing about bowling in the south end zone, "wait until we are selling out every game and then do it", was heard often, and they were wrong.
If money was no problem ISU should enlarge the press box, and then take out the bleachers on both sides and replace them with seats with cupholders. What you would lose in capacity, would be evened out by the new press box area, keeping seating roughly where we are at now.
