Congratulations

To the entire team. ISU finished with a much better record than the the last several years. This team has the potential to win at least 27 games and quite possibly more. You never know what might happen in the NCAA tourney. I have believed all year that the second best team in the Big 12 this year was from Ames. I have stated on this board a while back that I wanted to see the Cyclones as a #2 seed in OKC and then hopefully get to watch them play BU for the tourney championship. That's what I've been wanting all year , and I usually get my way if I lust after it long enough.

I plan to arrive in OKC Friday evening and take in the whole thing. I believe Acoustimac told me he would be there again, and I assume some of his good ol buddies. Hope to see him and any body else as far as that goes. I usually hang out at Hudsons in Brickyard during spare time. Average food and lots of TV's. Give me a shout if you're around. I'll buy you a cheap sud and a potato chip.

P.S. I plan to go up to Ft Worth tomorrow and watch the Frogs and the Horns. I'll give you two guesses who I'll be rooting for.

Texas Tech Defense

I've just been really focusing on watching Tech's defense tonight. First of all, I am no guru on defense or basketball in general. I just like to learn from those in the know. Tech just doubled Osetkowski also, and by the time he pivoted to pass it out to the guard, the Tech player had already rotated over to make that pass defended. On Saturday, he was able to pass it right out and the open guard nailed the three or had plenty of time to pass it to a wide open guy as another defender was flying at him. So.... what is the main issue? As a collective group, does our team not execute? Not understand? Is our double-team not quick enough or from the wrong player? Two guys do their job, three don't? Our personnel isn't equipped to play 'D' like that? Maybe Tech's double team is tougher to pass out of , includes more height than what we're able to provide? Just would like to understand.
Look, I realize there is more to defense than this one particular scenario, like stopping the dribble penetration etc., but Texas has beaten their man off the dribble different times, too, and Tech is there to either block or cause havoc with the dish. Call me envious (or jealous) of their defense.

Farrell's Extreme Body Shaping

I'm about to sign up for the 10 week course. I want the non-sales pitch info from those who have done it or know someone who did.

What am I about to experience?
What are the goods and bads?
For those who have had success, what were your keys other than the obvious (stick with the diet, etc)?
Any secrets/tips that improve the experience?

[I realize there is a thread from 2007 on this same topic, but I'd like some more recent experiences]

Couple charged in robbery and child endangerment

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...-robbery-child-endangerment-theft/3057302002/

The couple was charged with child endangerment after the husband left the 7 year old home alone to go rob a Hardees in which the wife was working. The question is, how old do your kids need to be before you can leave them home alone to run a quick errand?

I love CF but...

the ads filling up half of my phone screen, that just started. Video ads that surprise me with audio, or the ads that shift the page just as I'm about to click, or the "winner" spam that takes over my browser. Or it making my work computer fan kick on within seconds of getting on here.

Maybe if I paid to be a super fanatic I wouldn't have these issues. But not sure I can fathom paying to read the full on negativity to players, coaches, and admin.

I test drove The Athletic and was blown away with the writing. Dare I say that they have as good of content as Rob Gray? Doubt they will do it if we are down like the CF staff does.

This pains me to say, but it may be time to stop being a fanatic. Talk me out of it or give me tips on easing my frustrations. Chris and the whole staff have provided me a great place to waste work time for 12 years and am very thankful. Owe them all, and I was a Patreon member for a little while. These guys deserve every penny they get and more. I just don't want to pay more as this is a distraction and by paying I will feel compelled to waste more time than I already spend. BTW, I won't be paying for The Athletic, if I spend anything on reading sports it will be here.

So we're ranked again

"Iowa State, which has lost three of its past four games, actually moved up two spots Monday to return to the top 25, at No. 25. The Cyclones (20-8 overall, 9-7 Big 12 Conference) remain out of The Associated Press' rankings, receiving votes at No. 28. "

First time I remember benefiting, rather than losing ground, due to inattention to what's going on.

I do think we're a top 30 team, but this is odd.

Big 12 tourney thoughts/seeding

This might be selfish of me to think, but I’d almost rather texas jump us in the standings, and have us finish 6th if we can’t move up past the 4th place spot. We would play KU at 8 pm on Thursday instead of dreaded baylor at 11 am on Thursday. I think KU is a better matchup for us personally. Just wondered what others thoughts are on the subject!

Getting Through This Winter

What are some small things we are doing to get us through the rest of this godforsaken hellhole of a winter? Being met with -20 wind chills as I walked out the door this morning was almost enough for me to lose all hope.

I caved a few days ago and got the MLB At Bat app and have been listening to Cubs spring training games in the afternoon. Any other winter I wouldn't have gotten it this early but it is a reminder that relief is hopefully close. Also created a warm weather playlist for when I am working outside, hopefully by the end of the month.

Heavy drinking is a given btw.

Cant sell my tickets

This whole season I have not been able to sell my tickets of games I havent been able to go to. I post on facebook and craigslist, and I havent sold a single ticket this year. I have seats in section 203(not great spot) but I cant even sell big 12 tickets for $20 each. A few years ago I had zero issues, they were gone in minutes. Where are people selling their tickets?
