For our next mafia game we're going to Raccoon City.

Going to give away a little bit and say we're going to have 3 teams in this game. A mafia and innos obviously, and a 3rd team being an infected zombie team. How big they are depends on how many people sign up.

This is an easy one for me and I think it is interesting how musical tastes evolve. For my choice it was as much about rebelling against what everyone else was in to at a certain time vs disliking the music specifically...



I’m still not a huge Jerry guy but I have come to have so much appreciation for the entire Dead story and Bob Weir is one of my favorite guitarists.

An idea I had around Academy Awards season, then promptly forgot, so here it is: What’s the first award, certificate or trophy you remember receiving? Magnitude of the event/occasion doesn’t matter. Second Question: Do you still have it?

Earliest I recall is getting a trophy for winning our fifth-grade pentathlon. (If I still have it, it’s buried in storage.)

We hear over and over and over "subscribe to your local newspaper", "support local journalism", "content isn't free!" from many media folks. I get it, they want people to pay for their content. Serious question - why are they different from other forms of media that make the free model work?

Podcast content - free
TV Channels (OTA) content - free
Youtube content - free
News websites content - free
CF-type websites content - free

I subscribe to The Athletic and the NY Times so I'm clearly not against paying for content but legit curious why newspapers and news media think they are different and special than other forms. Why haven't they figured this out like other forms? Please educate me.

Has anyone been watching these documentaries from vice? The one about the murder of Bruiser Brody was probably the best one I've seen yet. I'm watching the one on Dr. D David Shultz now.

Since there’s likely a bunch of horticulturists and electrical engineers on the site, I thought it’s be best to ask here. I have some buried power lines (and century link and mediacom) running along the back edge of my back yard where I’d like to plant a tree or two for shading purposes as well to block the site lines of the condos and duplexes they’re building behind us. I am wondering how close I can plant a tree to a buried power line without creating issues. Any input would be appreciated!

Ok good folks of CF...I've never made a homemade Bloody Mary. So whats the best mix/vodka out there? What other ingredients do you all recommend????

I kind of ask because Fareway has a special on Zing Zang bloody mix with Butchers Block vodka...curious if that was any good as well.

This should be fun since we are all different ages

1. Goonies- Absolutely love this movie. It was great since I could watch it with my kids and they are fans now also. Still want to go to Astoria. Quick note. John Matusak who played Sloth played football at Iowa Central Juco.
2. Rambo- I remember wanting to do all the Rambo stuff. Rambo movies are one of the reasons I joined the Marines. My Parents bought me a Rambo knife for Christmas and the neighborhood kids thought I had the best parents ever
3. Raiders of the Lost Arch- If you can't tell I like adventure type movies. Raiders was so good.
4. Rocky 4- It's not the best Rocky but I watched it at Merle Hay Cinema and will never forget the crowd cheering when Rocky defeated the Russian
5. Breakfast Club- Basically loved every John Hughes movie. Breakfast club was so good and so unique. No other movie really like it.
