Position changes in 2020

Just wanted to get some input on what players might end up changing positions. Campbell and staff are not shy about doing this, and I kinda like it... We have seen DT's move to the o-line, a QB move to TE, a QB move to LB, a WR move to CB, a safety move to LB, safeties that move to corner and vice versa... I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

I think the two most obvious moves for 2020 would be....

1. Enyi moving into the interior of the d-line. He played there as a freshman a bit and we will need some experience in the middle after losing Lima and Johnson. Plus, we have some depth at DE with JaQuan, Petersen and McDonald, as well as a couple redshirt freshmen and Johnny Wilson coming in.

2. Milton moving back to the slot. He did average 20 yards per catch this year, but didn't have a lot of catches. IMO he is a natural slot WR and is far more dangerous there. I get that you want your best players on the field, hence moving him to the outside, but Deshaunte is gone so Milton should be the #1 guy in the slot, with Shaw taking over that outside position and then there will be a battle for the #3 spot.

I know there are plenty of things to improve on, but I'm excited to see how much talent returns next year. Just have to clean up a few things and we should be fine.

Thanks to a great Senior Class

Disappointing day and there will plenty of time to complain, but in the end it was still a senior class that leaves with 26 wins, including a bowl win.

Not going to call out everybody, but a few of my favorites;
Lima and Spears- great on the field and off. Their leadership and class will be missed.
Good-Jones- Played a ton of games all over the line. Took a lot of heat on here, but I will remember the guy that was sick as a dog at TCU last year and kept battling.
D. Jones- Mr. reliable and always willing to do the dirty work over the middle.
Pettway- Probably my favorite transfer to ISU football. Guy pretty much willed ISU to the win vs KU. Played with great effort and toughness.
J. Johnson- Guy stuck it out and finally it paid off. Great disruptive guy up front.

No doubt they are disappointed but they have represented ISU well and accomplished a great deal.

Thanks and good luck

It was nice chatting with all of you in the lead up to the bowl game. I thought that the game would be close, and actually predicted that Iowa State would win because of all of the turmoil that ND experienced with the firing of the OC.

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the game. From my perspective, it was a pretty typical ND performance. The defense was good all year apart from the offense hanging them out to dry and wearing down in the Michigan game. The offense was pretty sloppy, missing some easy throws and just not executing as well as it seems like they should. I think that the two quick turnovers in the first quarter obviously set a bad tone for you that was going to make it nearly impossible to recover from.

How do you feel about your program, where it stands right now, and does this game change your opinion about where you're heading?

Camping World bowl rep

Long story short, had a Camping World Bowl rep on my flight to Orlando. Had some fun facts:

1. he’s one of 250 people that vote on who goes.

2. said they picked us due to showing out at the Alamo bowl last year.

3. said some KSU fan found out where he works and filed an ethics violation with his employer for “corrupting the college bowl system”. I thought that tidbit was absolutely hilarious.

Play of the Year

If you had to pick the most iconic play for ISU each year, what would they be?

Here are my initial thoughts on several years below:

2019: Assalley Game-winning FG against Texas

2018: Rose fumble TD against Kansas State

2017: Lazard game-winning TD against Oklahoma

2016: ?

2015: Warren fumble against Kansas State

2014: Netten game-winning FG against Iowa
...
2007: Culbertson game-winning FG against Iowa
