Jimmy Rogers and Iowa State Football continue to roll on the 2027 recruiting trail, this time picking up a commitment from 2027 3-star EDGE DJ Williams.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Clay-Chalkville High School prep just returned from a weekend official visit to Ames.

Iowa State picks up a commitment from three-star 2027 cornerback Ke'Sean Williams.

The 6-foot-1, 170 pound corner has 22 offers, including Arkansas, Louisville, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin, among others.

The start of the regular season kind of managed to sneak up on me this year! Seems like some more question marks for some key players, not the least of which is McCaffrey, although some seem to be returning to practice. To me, the season will hinge on staying healthy.

Yonger just made his post college debut. Wrestled Sharipov from Bahrain at RAF 10. Pretty good showing, gave up a big 4 point throw, but got a takedown and a shot clock point to only lose 5-3. Yonger looked significantly smaller.

Also, he got choked out at the end of the first and continued the match.

Sharipov is ranked third in the world and returning world bronze. Yonger will be a contender at heavyweight to make a world team.

Perhaps this already exists but I haven't seen it. I think it'd be helpful for the beer enthusiast community here at CF to keep a running thread of when local beer releases are happening, as well as when/where the releases are distributed. Kind of a continuous thread to keep us all in the loop and help each other find great beer.

A couple currently:

-Big Grove's Big Ed hit DSM metro stores this week. As of this morning, Ankeny Prairie Trail Hy vee had about 20 four-packs for $14.99. Big Ed may be the very best NEIPA made in Iowa.
-Big Grove Colorado Smuggler is getting released at the brewery this week, and should be in the metro around this time next week. IMO, this is the second best NEIPA that BG makes.
-There are still four packs of Founders KBS Mackinac Fudge floating around. Not an Iowa brew but I know one that has had alot of hype (and its very very tasty). Huxley Fareway is a little honey hole for it. 4-5 four packs left for $19.99
-Confluence DDH Des Moines IPA dry hopped with Cashmere and Nelson Sauvin is all over the state right now. Don't sleep on these; and stellar deal for $10.99.
-TG Hopsmack is in the metro if you still get excited about TG IPA's (IMO they've been surpassed by a few other local breweries). There was plenty at North Ankeny Hyvee this morning.
-North Ankeny HyVee also has a few bottles left of Surly Darkness 2020. I'd assume they're floating around most of the state right now.

USA! USA! USA! The long wait (for some of us;-) is over. I believe that we will win! U.S. is favored by about half a goal I've seen.

Hope they come out on the front foot looking to be aggressive and score. This is probably the most individually talented USMNT we've ever had at a World Cup, but can the whole be greater than the sum of their parts. Hope so. They need the collective spirit and fire and tenacity that some prior US teams have had that have overachieved (particularly on the defensive end). Those backs just saying, "I'm not letting you cut in front of me for anything" to their man. For once I'd like us to do that and get to the quarterfinals or beyond! It starts tonight!

Iowa State has a long list of great runners and T&F athletes, including several Olympians. The latest is middle distance runner (sprinter) Rachel Joseph who is dominating the competition right now.

The only thing worse than running the 400 (full on sprint for full lap) is running the 800 (full on sprint for 2 laps).

If you could delete one person or group(not including politicians) from coming up on any news feed, social media site, article, recommendation, etc.. when you're on the web who would it be?

I think mine would be Taylor Swift. I've never clicked on anything related to her in my life, but it seems like half of what I see involves her in some way or another.

Has anyone listened? Incredible football podcast, usually it’s just conversation’s between the hosts. They rarely, if ever, interview players but ended up interviewing ISU alum Charlie Kolar on the state of TE’s in today’s NFL.

Iowa State earned its third commitment of the 2027 class in 4-star small forward Jack Kohnen (first reported by Joe Tipton of On3).

He picked the Cyclones after also considering Nebraska and Iowa.

Hey Fellow Fanatics,

This is going to be pretty humbling for me to right this, but I think I gotta or else its only going to get worse. i have a serious problem on my hands. It is one that probably many of us face. We know it's a problem. We know that WE are doing it to ourselves. We feel guilt ever time we make the problem worse. But, we continue with our habits. In my case, it hadn't always been this way, but it is now.

I have got to face the facts. I'm fat. and only getting fatter.

A few months ago, I posted what order at five guys in its respective thread and stated how I spend $25 and don't even get full. I got a barrage of replies about how that's so much food and GIFs of fat bastard from the Austin Powers movies. I did take those as jokes, but I felt AWFUL because I did it to myself.

Well, I've gained 10 pounds since that post. I am now up to 270lbs. I entered college at 170, left 225. My back and knees always hurt. I have EMBARRASING stretch marks on my stomach. I get out of breath just walking up the stairs. My blood pressure is 160/90. None of my clothes fit (and I refuse to bigger clothes since I know it's because I'm gaining weight.

I need things to change or I'm going to die. If not, I'll be stricken with a life of painful knees and disdain for having to walk up stairs.

Therefore, I will begin my weight loss journey on November 1st with a goal of losing 50 pounds by April 1st. If I do not lose the weight, I will donate $400 to one of Cyclone Fanatics Charities. To make sure I'm not cheating, I will be positing my weight every Friday.

I'm writing this post so that I have accountability and to see if anyone else feels the same way and wants to join me.
