Farming Technology ... Field Crops

I keep up with the other thread. As a non farmer, but a central Iowa kid born in the 60s, I find the discussion very interesting.
I'd like to know your thoughts on what those deceased farmers .... say age 90 plus ....would say about today's technology. Perhaps some of you have been able to take an elderly retired farmer out for planting and harvesting. Just a thread about generational advantages. Thanks!

Easter Candy

What’s your go to for filling Easter baskets? Seems the variety has taken a hit with Cadbury and Reeces taking over the shelves.

Also, whatever happened to Crunch eggs? Those were the best and I couldn’t find them anymore. And while I do not miss them at all, circus peanuts were always tied to Easter and I don’t recall seeing them on the shelves this year.

Personal favorites:
Lindt bunnies
York Patties
Nerds Jelly Beans

Humble beginnings fuel new ISU RB coach Jake Landry's rapid rise through the ranks

ISU Alum needs your votes

I know I am a new member, but I am a long time lurker, and my family and I are huge Cyclone fans. Anyway, my husband, some of you may know him from X as HestoPresto, is a semifinalist for America’s Favorite Teacher. He is a math teacher at Knoxville High School, and completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Iowa State. He really could use your free vote once every 23 hours. He must be in 1st place in his semifinal group by Thursday night at 9 pm (CDT) to advance to the finals. Thank you for your consideration!

Tennessee Volunteer QB Nico Iamaleava holds out, demands more NIL money

https://www.knoxnews.com/story/spor...see-football-transfer-portal-nil/77289286007/

Don't know if this was already discussed somewhere or not?

Volunteer star QB holds out of spring practice, demands going from $2 mil per year to $4 mil per year in NIL, or he will enter portal.

UT amazingly to me... says... "don't let the door hit ya on the way out". What a crazy world we are in.

Black Roadside Cameras

So I've noticed these small black cameras with solar panels on the side of the road recently in north Polk County. There is one on NW 66th just west of the Des Moines river on the north side of the road, and then I saw one in Ankeny on NW State St by the sports complex and Goldfinch Sports. Anyone know what they are? I figure they can't be speed cameras because I think those require signs now. I was thinking either traffic monitoring of some sort or license plate trackers.

Recommendations for cardio distractions?

Looking for things to keep me occupied during ~50 minute low intensity steady state cardio. Something kind of engaging but not super involved or requires a ton of attention. Either TV series or podcast. Just finished up Season 2 of The Punisher for reference, which was great for that. Just push play and work out for the duration of the episode.

Prefer something where a whole season is available at once or has a big back catalog as I try to do cardio 4X/week. Waiting a week for new episodes won't really cut it. Already watched Reacher S1/S2, and will hit S3 when it's all out. All genres are on the table.

Same song by same artists that are different

Are there versions of a song done by the original artist that may be popular on the main album but a second version is one you think is heads and shoulders better?

For instance. I love the song Walking After You by Foo Fighters but their version on the Color and the Shape album is nothing compared to the version that is oddly enough only available on the X-Files Movie soundtrack. It’s not even close that that version is better in my opinion.

Rocco Becht makes donation to Mary Greeley pediatrics unit

Wanted to share this positive NIL story. Rocco used a portion of his NIL earnings to donate entertainment systems to all the pediatric rooms at Mary Greeley in Ames. Your support is also doing a lot of cool things like this that doesn't get the same media coverage.

The price of slow-pitch softballs

So I went to Sports Authority last week to look at softballs for our upcoming season and the price has skyrocketed from like $4.99 (last year) to $7.99 per ball! WTH happened? I plan to buy a box of a dozen of them somehwhere but nearly $8.00 per ball seems pretty outlandish to me. It is the same ball too, not like they are different in any way, shape or form. Anyone have suggestions for a fellow Fanatic?
