Artemis 2 Launch - Going Back to the Moon

Surprised there hasn't been more discussion about this. Personally I'm really excited to see this. This will be the first time out of low earth orbit in over 50 years.

Vinyl albums year-to-year sales increased for 19th consecutive time; 47.9 million records sold in 2025

Billboard released an article detailing the tracking Luminate (the tracking company Billboard uses to create all their charts) did for the entirety of 2025. I'll post a link to the whole thing but will copy a few bullet points as well.

  • Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl was Luminate’s top album of 2025 in the U.S. It’s the fourth time Swift has captured Luminate’s year-end No. 1 album, and her second-consecutive title. She also had the year-end No. 1 album in 2024 with The Tortured Poets Department, in 2014 with 1989 and in 2009 with Fearless.
  • For the first time since Luminate began tabulating the year’s top albums by equivalent album units in 2014, two albums exceeded 5 million units earned in a calendar year: The Life of a Showgirl (5.607 million) and Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem (5.125 million).
  • On-demand audio streams drove 85% of all U.S. audio album consumption in 2025. Pure album sales (purchases of physical and digital download albums) totaled 14% of consumption and track sales accounted for 1%.
  • Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” was the most-streamed song in the U.S. in 2025 by on-demand audio streams: 746.2 million.
  • U.S. vinyl album sales increased for the 19th consecutive year, growing by 8.6% in to 47.9 million copies sold in 2025. (I found this stat particularly fascinating: 19 years of growth.)

***2025 UFL Season Thread***

The 2025 UFL season kicks off Friday, March 28 with St. Louis at Houston, 7 p.m. CT on FOX.

FOX will have a Friday night game each week. Other regular-season games will be split among FS1, ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2.

Active rosters are limited to 50 players. Here are the Cyclones on active rosters to start the season:

TEAMPLAYER#POS
BirminghamLa'Michael Pettway80TE
St. LouisMike Rose27LB
St. LouisWillie Harvey51LB
St. LouisChase Allen87TE
St. LouisHakeem Butler88WR

Also, Anthony Becht (HC) and Seneca Wallace (QB) are on the St. Louis staff and Marc Lillibridge is the GM for San Antonio.

The term "fast" merely scratches the surface for ISU's multi-talented running back Aiden Flora

Women's Wrestling Transfer/Recruiting Targets?

Curious on who St. John will target to field our first roster? I assume she will recruit the rosters at the Grand Views, Simpson, Dubuque, North Central (IL) program's for ready talent through the transfer portal who would want to wrestle for a big D1 brand like Iowa State. I know many girls on those rosters from the state of Iowa whose dream would be to wrestle for the Cyclones (so long as they're talented enough). Also curious on who she will add to her coaching staff?

MBB: Interesting to see what other conference teams are losing in the portal

We get focused on our own adds and subtractions from the portal, but it is interesting to see what conference foes are experiencing. Massive turnover at some stops. Kansas for instance:

Lost both Bedunga and Tiller from their front line. Paul Mbyia, a 7" Center also left, as have Elmarko Jackson, Jamari McDowell, Samis Calderon, Jayden Dawson and Corbin Allen. They have picked up Keanu Dawes from Houston. I believe out of eligibility inclues Tre White and Melvin Council. Darryn Peterson to the NBA draft. Of course you have to look at their HS class to finish the roster as they got 5* PF Taylen Kinney, 4* big Davion Adkins, 4* wing Trent Perry and another top recruit already for 2027.

Someone want to tackle an update for others in the conference?

Mystery Virus going around Iowa

Does anyone have an idea of what it is?
My coworker at work got it, started off as just a cold, then moved into bronchitis.
He tested negative for covid & Flu A/B
And yes, I’m asking because he gave it to me lol.
Felt a cold coming on last Sunday, still went for a run, Monday I felt quite a bit worse. Tuesday bad again, Wednesday felt a little better so went on another run.
Thursday felt terrible and had a low grade fever for 3 days. <100.4
Now just have a wonderful hacking cough.
(No fever anymore)

Any ideas on what’s going around?

Edit: Doctor thinks I have very mild pneumonia in my left lung yay.
Getting put on antibiotics for a precaution.

On That Note: And Who Are the Trusted?

After this much time and success we have learned to trust coach TJ and his staff. This week, in celebration of TJ and crew reeling in all 5 Portal targets we are looking for song titles/lyrics containing the word "Trust."

We are accepting variations of the word to include; trusted, trusting, trustworthy, distrust, untrusted.

Last week's topic was Fame. It can be found here: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-fame.298465/

Your weekly hosts for OTN are @cyclones500, @CycloneRulzzz and me.
