Does anyone have an idea of what it is?
My coworker at work got it, started off as just a cold, then moved into bronchitis.
He tested negative for covid & Flu A/B
And yes, I’m asking because he gave it to me lol.
Felt a cold coming on last Sunday, still went for a run, Monday I felt quite a bit worse. Tuesday bad again, Wednesday felt a little better so went on another run.
Thursday felt terrible and had a low grade fever for 3 days. <100.4
Now just have a wonderful hacking cough.
(No fever anymore)

Any ideas on what’s going around?

Edit: Doctor thinks I have very mild pneumonia in my left lung yay.
Getting put on antibiotics for a precaution.

That’s just spring. Your body is getting fresh air and pollen for the first time in forever and cleansing out your lungs from a long winter.

RSV, maybe

Live in KS. Family has symptoms similar to OP; we thought it was allergies at first based on the description from second poster. Kids all had fever and missed school from being completely drained and snotty/cough. Doc diagnosed as “rotor virus”. I’m not good at spelling and have same symptoms as kids. I’ve been down this last week.

Interesting only thing that comes up for that on Google is rotavirus which is the diarrhea one you get as a kid.
I wonder if this is their nickname for the virus

A coworker recently had similar symptoms and I believe that’s what he was diagnosed with and given antibiotics.

I thought for sure I was coming down with a sore throat last Saturday. It never really got any worse, but it still feels like I’m on the verge of a cold or something 8 days later. Probs just a post-nasal drip I guess.

He gave it to you? Hmm, might be chlamidiya.

Sounds like what I had this past February. Very irritating chest congestion and cough. Had a low grade fever early, that only lasted 3-4 days but the chest congestion and cough hung around for several weeks. Basically all of February. It sucked.

I kind of had similar last fall. Felt like I had a new thing each week but never tested positive for Flu A/B or Covid.

I work in schools though so walking through the halls is basically just a bunch of viral face punches.

I had similar here in FL about 3 weeks ago. Even lost my voice for a day. No sense of smell for a day or two. Definitely worst sinus and lung congestion in my life.

I just tested positive for Influenza A Thursday feeling like that

It must be Super COVID 10.0. 14 days to flatten the curve... 6 feet social distance... mask up, take some ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine etc., and you will be fine!

In all seriousness there have been some strange viruses going around this winter that you just have to let play out. One of my kids about a month ago started with a little cough and maybe a cold then popped a 103 fever 1 morning and missed a whole week of school because she couldn't break a 100 temp fever for 24 hours straight for about 5 days. Only the first day with the high fever did she feel somewhat bad otherwise was bored at home and begging to go back to school. My mom had some kinda virus that took her over 2 weeks to get over and she tested negative for pretty much everything over multiple doctor visits. Had a bad cough and felt ok some days and bad other days.

Had it a couple of weeks ago. Whole house got it. Was a cold, mucus, sinus ****, sneezing, coughing, achy, slept forever. Took a week + to get back to normal but we all just got over it with rest and NyQuil/AlkaSeltzer/DayQuil/Mucinex.

3rd day today of what is most likely a sinus infection that also produced a sore throat as of yesterday. And then add a 100 deg temp as of today. Going to see a Dr tomorrow morning. Feeling like dog **** wrapped in cat ****.

This is in MN.

Could it have been rhinovirus? The common cold. It's rare to get that bad, but it can. Can travel to the lower respiratory tract and have pneumonia symptoms. Can also lead to secondary stuff like bronchitis.

Have not been sick in years. I contribute my use of tequila, vodka and bourbon
I take all of those prescribed, and still end up with what ever the kids bring home from daycare/school. though hardly more then a cough or runny/stuffed up nose really.
