March madness is a fickle mistress. You need luck to make a deep run. There were lots of teams this year who had injuries to deal with that affected their NCAA Tourney performance or whether they even got in. NC and Texas Tech come to mind. Both were Final Four caliber if healthy.

KU lost their leading scorer before the Tourney a couple of years ago (Kevin McCullar) which doomed their chances, and then had Darryn Peterson hurt for this year's Tourney. Houston lost Jamal Shead vs Duke in the Sweet 16 in '24 and lost as a result. With Shead they were a Final Four type team.

I believe we'll get to the Final Four in TJ's tenure. And hopefully more than once. But I think he'll have us at that level more often than not. And we're due for a little luck I think.

Believe it or not I didn't have Arnaldi vs Cobolli semi final on my card. Today was first time seeing Cobolli very solid all around player. I think he'll be in Quarters-semis quite a bit. Though with Tennis you never know. He reminds me a bit of Lucas Pouille who beat Nadal in classic US Open match and was in top 10 for year or 2 then faded away quickly after

Even though you said expansion that part went over my head. I haven't studied much on how brackets will be constructed now. Is a 14 seed a game vs other AQ's then a game vs 3 seed?

I think a good valley team such as Drake in 25 could get up as high as 8/9 seed but agree with big part. It'd take something very unlikely to be one of the last teams AQ's

Calling Plano "20 miles north of Dallas" is one of those things that's technically accurate, but spiritually misses the point.

That's not going to hurt their following one bit. From where that arena's going, you have another 20 miles before you're in the country, and those northern 'burbs are full of transplants from points north.
