Hello CF,
Our group is planning on attending the away game this season in Waco. I see that ISU just pushed out their email for away game tickets and figured I would come here first for suggestions. It looks as if Baylor jams away fans up in the corner of the stadium. Does anybody know if the alumni association does anything and Waco and if so will they be selling tickets?

I was just recently thinking back to one of the best blockers ever for Iowa State, Kelvin Cato. He played 2 years at Iowa State and was dominant, before heading to the NBA. Take a look at his stats and this old video on him. Click here.

Looks like Reineri’s quest to wrestle for ISU has ended.

Hearing the stories of Harrison Barnes and his college announcement got me thinking of what would have happened if the 07-08 season doesn't end 14-18 with 3 future NBA guys. If we somehow make the tournament and things are looking up, Wes Johnson stays and recruits his buddy Jimmy Butler to follow him to Iowa State that could start a domino effect for Iowa State basketball. The next three years could be something special

Have you bought seed from them before? How did things go? Good quality? Seed did what you expected?

I don't know where to post this: Football; ticket exchange; or tailgating so I'm going to start here. We have been in Lot D3 for many years, and have really liked it but for Luke Combs we parked in D4, and were able to slip out through the drive way leading directly from D4 out on to University. It was getting before the event but open after. My parking selection time is in an hour, and there are some D4 spots open so I'm contemplating changing.

Anyone park in D4 for Football games that can tell me if that little drive way is open after the game? And if it's any easier to get out. We like D3 for a number of reasons but slipping out that driveway could be attractive if it's open. Anyone have any advice?

Is there a bonafide movie star or A-lister that is or has been incredibly popular making many movies that made bank at the box office that you just don't like at all? This is mainly for leading roles.

Independence Day is on right now and man is it not good after a few decades. I honestly can't think of a blockbuster movie that I love that Will Smith is in. He CAN be good in dramatic roles but for the most part I think he's a pretty horrible actor.

I saw an article from Slate.com that got bumped recently that discussed "Musical nostalgia". A lot of people my age listen to oldies music exclusively and it gets tiring to me. Whenever we have a bonfire or are in the car together, they play only play music from their youth. To me, it's ok, but I prefer newer music that I haven't heard so many times over and over.

Turns out that there is science confirming that it is a effect they are calling "Neural Nostalgia".

"In recent years, psychologists and neuroscientists have confirmed that these songs hold disproportionate power over our emotions. And researchers have uncovered evidence that suggests our brains bind us to the music we heard as teenagers more tightly than anything we’ll hear as adults—a connection that doesn’t weaken as we age. Musical nostalgia, in other words, isn’t just a cultural phenomenon: It’s a neuronic command. And no matter how sophisticated our tastes might otherwise grow to be, our brains may stay jammed on those songs we obsessed over during the high drama of adolescence."

One of my favorite places in my neck of the woods (Dan's in Cresco) made the cut. It's legitimately one of the best burgers I've ever had. They sold like 21,000 burger baskets in the first year they were open. If you're heading up to the Driftless Area to canoe or bike this summer, it's definitely worth the stop.

Iowa State is currently ranked 4th in the nation in the Shooty Hoops Living Top 25. This is a new website with very detailed NBA 2K type ratings. Interesting to see that they have Johnson rated as our best rated player for next year.

As a bonus, I have already gotten Iowa State up to 3rd in the nation in the Shooty Hoops game which is a basketball video game playable on web app and mobile featuring Flappy Bird style graphics. I need someone to take the torch and get us to 1st. Mississippi Valley is somehow over 16000 points higher than the next highest team.

Iowa State earned another commitment to its 2027 recruiting class in Waukee Northwest 3-star TE Joe Vinyard.
