Tulane RB Arnold Barnes III commits to Iowa State

Jimmy Rogers is getting reinforcements on the offensive side of the ball with the the commitment of Tulane transfer running back Arnold Barnes III, per Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

In three seasons at Tulane, The 5-foot-10, 216 pound back ran for 757 yards and scored seven touchdowns. As a junior in 2025, Barnes ran for 217 yards as a primarily a short-yardage back.

With the season-ending injury to Oregon State transfer Salahadin Allah and the recent departure of depth piece Jayden Jackson, Barnes becomes the eighth available running back available for the 2026 season.

Blissfully Oblivious: Songs Many Misunderstand

It is one of the great phenomena of pop music. A beat so infectious, a chorus so massive, that it completely overrides the brain's ability to process what is actually being said. Musicians have been Trojan-horsing incredibly dark, satirical, or tragic stories into songs for decades. Excluding Born in the U.S.A. by The Boss and Pumped Up Kicks (it's cringey watching people scream sing to this song clearly not listening to the lyrics), what are some other ones?

Similar to Pumped Up Kicks, watching people gleefully karaoke to a song like Semi-charmed Life by Third Eye Blind is something.

Hey Ya! by Outkast is about a completely dead, miserable relationship where two people stay together purely out of habit and fear of being alone. Andre 3000 even brilliantly mocks the listener in the middle of the song, singing: "Y'all don't want to hear me, you just want to dance."

Twister Sister Summary - a small change

I've made the decision to make the summaries available only from the wordpress site. I will no longer be posting them here. Please note...as it always has been...there will never be a cost involved. If you want to receive an email notice of a new posting just subscribe (found on the main page). When I post it just auto generates an email to those that want to read it. I'll keep content coming (although summer is always slow) just as I always have.

I've been writing the Twister Sister Summary for well over twenty years. That's a lot of writing and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I also appreciate any commentary it generates. There is a spot on each summary where you can leave comments if you want. I always enjoy reading responses and friendly dialogue.

Debit card compromised

Anybody else ever have this happen? I got an alert on my phone that a charge against my account for over $4,000 had been denied. So I called my bank to make sure it wasn't some sort of scam to get my account number, and sure enough, they had stopped a payment in that amount. So I had to go through the painful process of getting rid of the old card and getting a new one. You just don't realize how many things you pay for automatically online with your card until you have to go through this.

What is your "windows up, volume to 11" absolute trash song?

We all have musical standards. But we also all have songs that completely obliterate those standards the second we're alone. I’m talking about a track that is objectively terrible. Maybe it’s cheesy, meant for toddlers, or the lyrics sound like they were written by an aggressive AI. But when it comes on, you’re hitting the steering wheel like you’re at Wembley Stadium.

What is the song you know is absolute garbage, but you still crank to 11 in private? No judgment here (okay, maybe a little).
