Is Jayden Jackson leaving Iowa State?

I saw that tweet from Seals and thought it was a bizarre thing to say. So Jackson goes from Spring Showcase standout to off the team because a writer insinuated that the staff was playing favorites?

I definitely didn't care for the phrasing of that, and I saw Jayden's response that he didn't either. Not sure why that would push him to leave unless the sentiment behind the tweet came from the staff.

Honestly, better now than later. The Seals article was uncalled for, but Jimmy and Roehl both commented on him in the Spring Showcase which tells me off-the-field stuff was a big enough issue to bring up to the press in the first place. (I don't know what the off-the-field stuff was exactly)

I was wondering about this too... are players allowed to move around still? or did he just crash out so bad that he is going to sit out for a year?
Nope. There's only one now. Which is why Tech is kind of SOL with Sorsby if he can't go this year - because there isnt another window where they can pick someone else up or bring someone in. Their backup, I believe, is coming off a torn ACL. So what teams have right now, is what they'll have for the 2026-2027 season. However, I believe he could enter the portal now and drop down a level, but may need a waiver if he wants to play this year

You would have thought CJR and the other coaches would have put the fire out asap unless it simply wasn't working out for him being a Cyclone.

Guessing it's probably easier to explain as off the field issues now than trying to walk on egg shells around FERPA and why he's not playing in the fall after his spring performance.

So has he voluntarily left the team or has he been kicked off? It seems unbelievably short-sighted if he voluntarily left the team in May if he wasn't happy with potential playing time coming this fall.

Talent + No Injury + No Legal Trouble + Concerned Coaches + Limited Practice = Poor Academics

For the best, good luck to him at D2 or lower.

The real question is, how much was his NIL deal?
