Roku TV tiers

I’m wanting to upgrade the TV in the bedroom. I currently have a Samsung 40”. Which I’ve had 10-12 years. Since I put a 75” LG in the living room I really have no desire to older tube. I upgraded to a Roku streaming/ sound bar to watch Marquee. So I think I want to go Roku in the bedroom probably 65”. I was wondering if I’m only going to use it to watch tv are the better versions worth it?

2024-2025 Recruiting Thread

LaDarion Lockett has Iowa State in his top 7. #6 PFP recruit according to Flo and #2 according to MatScouts for the 2025 class. List of schools below:

Arizona State
Cornell
Iowa
Iowa State
Little Rock
Minnesota
Oklahoma State

Think it will be hard to beat out Oklahoma State for him seeing as he grew up a Cowboy fan and is from Stillwater, but let's see what the staff can do.

Help: I’m going to be a father

Good evening all, my girlfriend and I (25 and 26) recently learned she’s pregnant. I never in my life imagined I’d have a baby out of wedlock, though I’m confident this is the woman I was going to marry regardless. I definitely will now! Outside of the fear of telling her parents, I’m very excited and looking forward to this chapter. I am a home owner, I’m financially stable, but again, not married. My dad passed away via suicide when I was 4, so my memories of a father-son relationship are slim and none. Any advice in general for this process and any must-know’s for being a “young” dad that wants to be the dad I never had? My mom passed away last year so I’m really anxious to have a family of my own.

Kickin’ It with FOX’s Rob Stone: Bringing Big Noon to Ames, tips for Ireland, and more

Grant Mahoney and Jeff Woody react to Tyrese Haliburton’s injury and an odd AI story before welcoming FOX’s Rob Stone to discuss bringing Big Noon Kickoff to Iowa State, Farm-o’-geddon, and more from Rob’s career in the booth. Presented by Kelderman Manufacturing.

Williams & Blum: Hali’s injury, Niang to BOS, Rocco key to success, and more

Chris Williams and Brent Blum react to Tyrese Haliburton’s injury and Georges Niang heading to the Celtics before diving into Cyclone Hoops’ first media availability, Iowa State Football’s key to success, and the age-old game of “How Long Will This Big 12 Coach Last?” All this and more presented by Mechdyne.

UFO stuff & "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch"

New adventures of the boys bumbling along in a quasi-Scientific investigation of the so-called "most mysterious place on Earth," will air sometime Spring 2024. Finding the show entertaining at times, plodding, and almost campy at others, I look forward with a sense of hunger.

AS! There are some inexplicable photo captures, videos, and eyewitnesses accounts which need real Science to investigate. Hoping to crack open a cold one and enjoy, laugh, and maybe scratch my head.

The great washing machine debate

I actually have no idea if there is any debate here or not, but I wanted to pick CF brains about their experience with certain washing machines. Anyway, we're in the market for a new washing machine (and dryer) and I've done a decent amount of research, but I'd like to get some additional first-hand experience if possible. The brand I've been looking into most is Speed Queen. They're the throwback, old school, never-going-to-break machines and have an amazing reputation. My only concern with them is the drum size. We're a family of 5 and at ~3.5 cubic feet, it's not very big. However, my understanding is that these things can be completely filled to the top of the drum, versus these new HE machines that fill-up around 60% at most. Maytag has a similar type model, as does Bosch. Anyone have experience with these machines? I'd be curious about the large-sized HE models that people have and how they've performed.
