Iowa State earns its second commitment in 24 hours, this time in Farmington, Missouri, LB Josh McCarthy.

The 6-foot-1, 217-pound McCarthy picked up his Iowa State offer during Iowa State’s prospect camp on June 4th.

During his junior season at Farmington Sr. High School, McCarthy earned Missouri All State LB honors, 1st Team All District LB honors, 1st Team All Conference LB honors, and 1st Team All Region LB.

Stats on defense: 119 TOT – 91 Solo – 33TFL – 9.5 Sacks – 5 PBU – 3 FR – 1 Defensive TD

McCarthy held other offers from Missouri State, Illinois State, Army, and South Dakota. He becomes the 12th commitment to Jimmy Rogers’ 2027 recruiting class.
