Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man. He'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
To be fair, you started it.

So this 17 year old kid is supposed to be "loyal" to ISU? Why? That's Trumpish. He's lucky enough to have options. Hope he succeeds wherever he goes.
Since you’re relatively new here, I’ll make it simple. Please leave politically related references out of posts that aren’t in the Cave.

There’s a reason many of us avoid that forum like the plague. Or a naked Roseanne Barr.

Jus sayin and not directed at you. This is for generational comparison only: 17 year olds stormed beaches at Normandy and Iwo Jima and were called "men." My 21 year old uncle was the command pilot on a B-17 with nine other men on board (late teens and early twenties) ...shot down over France. We throw too much slack calling post high school football players "kids"....they are young men.
Those men grew up in a different era. Today they are pampered kids by comparison.

Really, who cares. We’ve known for a long time he wasn’t going to be a Cyclone. We also know he’s not going to be a Hawkeye. I’m not getting hung up on not making the kids top 7.

Matt Campbell always finds his guy.

What if he picks a school that didn’t make his “Top 7”? Surely that’s never happened before.

If he goes to a blue blood it is what it is. It’s only disappointing if he goes to Iowa or a Big12 rival.

Ditto. My Uncle, probably 18 when trained to fly, and flying in battle when he was 20-22, was also a B-17 command bomber pilot in Europe. Survived 30 combat missions over France and Germany in 1944, then after that transferred to Mustang bomber escort duty over Germany in 1945.

Statistically most of those crews never made it home. Did your Uncle survive or was he killed? They didn't want to be, but they were all heroes.

Those guys, that generation, did what they had to do. It was a different time.

I will say this, every generation says it was harder when they were young, or that their parents had it harder, or whatever. Time moves on.

Each generation will do what they will, or have to, to make their mark. No better, no worse really.

Do I have a partiality to my parents generation? Yes. Just look at what they had to go thru. That generation had its faults though for sure but they did endure a lot.

We are all Americans. We can be proud of that I hope, and also grow from it.
