Weirdest thing about this season is that two teams stormed the field after beating us . Can any 5 or 6 win team in history say that?

I’d say the OL is having a good year. Them and TEs are the only units I trustWe're just consistently below average in every respect this year. Offense, defense and special teams. Coaching and execution. There is nothing/no one doing their jobs well right now. Some of you will be biased against the offense or the defense or certain players or coaches, but there isn't anyone consistently carrying the torch right now.
That doesn't mean I think we need to give up or burn it all down. But this just isn't a good program right now. The first half against BYU was a manic spasm but it looks like thats over. I'm usually pretty optimistic but after looking mediocre in 2 of our 5 wins and now 4 losses I'm ready for next season.
This team is not going 9-4, I love ISU but this team is broken. As bad as this season has become, 2022 is still worse, but (1) you kind of expected some drop-off after departures from 2021 team (2) '22 wasn't ranked in preseason then started 5-0.
This could end 5-7 or 9-4 with (some kind of) bowl win. We know which is more likely on that continuum. At this point, getting to something in the 2018/2021 results might be about the best we can hope.
Oh, I agree, 9-4 seems beyond reasonable expectation. (That was my "likely continuum" portion). This team is not going 9-4, I love ISU but this team is broken.
My father would have said “well did you try NOT to lose??”I don’t rip on the players because I know from experience how hard they work and that they don’t intend to lose.
That's like cave worthy stuffHow about we actually pay for play. Meaning if you make the play you get the pay.
You’re not wrong, but in part this is also what NIL is doing to college athletics. Some of these guys are now making more than NFL players, and we’re supposed to be willing to get behind that. It’s a difficult thing to ask an individual fan to be passionate enough to fork over substantial cash to buy good players…and then to be able to hit the brakes and say they’re just kids. I’m not saying we shouldn’t do that…but it’s not easy.I’m old enough that after what we’ve been through the past four weeks I take a step back from the ledge and remind myself that this is a game played by youngsters for the entertainment of the masses. I don’t rip on the players because I know from experience how hard they work and that they don’t intend to lose. On the other hand, coaches are evaluated by results. CMC knows what he is doing and if this ship continues to sink he needs to: evaluate staff starting with OC play selection, determine if there is any relationship between practice and training that is leading to injury (3 kickers kicking too much? Cornerbacks, LB’s, Safety’s too much in season live hitting?). Personally Mouser is too inexperienced and in over his head. Bottom line this is a coaching problem not a player problem.
Wouldn’t be bad to load up the NIL contracts with incentives to be honestHow about we actually pay for play. Meaning if you make the play you get the pay.
Yep, 6 of our 8 losses in 2022 were by a combined 24 points, and 4 of those were by a combined 11 points. We played ten bowl teams and an FCS team that made the playoffs. The defense was elite. If Jihrel Brock had stayed healthy that could have been one of Campbell’s best teams.2022 we played a much much tougher schedule and we will only end with 2 more wins this year. Maybe only 1. So I think it’s safe to say we were better that year
The running game has actually been really good. We're just consistently below average in every respect this year. Offense, defense and special teams. Coaching and execution. It’s sad because we have one of the best O lines in years. These guys are absolutely crushing people and the run game is thriving. Unfortunately the OC keeps putting it in the air with a QB who is having a catastrophic meltdown.
maybe it spooked him by quite a bit? And he is playing a little tenative or scared at times. I would like to see him take off every now and again when the pressure is coming, make them pay like he is capable of doing. But he is not doing that. If he feels footsteps he either gets rid of it and throws an inaccurate pass into coverage or rolls to either side and again throws an innaccurate pass. So he seems scared to take off because it was a play like that where he took the hit in the Cin.game. The other thing that bothers me is sometimes Rocco does a decent job of buying himselft a little more time back there, enough time someone should be open, but either we are not getting any seperation at all or he is not seeing open guys. What was it about the hit? Did the staff leave a concussion undiagnosed and we've been witnessing a QB playing thru something that even nfl QBs aren't allowed to play thru? Or is it something else? Psyche related?
well, we were 17-3 when that happened.Weirdest thing about this season is that two teams stormed the field after beating us . Can any 5 or 6 win team in history say that?

The one phrase I vowed never to say to my child.
Regardless, he needs to be benched. Any other position if they were playing that poorly would be benched. But everyone is treating Rocco with kid gloves. Campbell praising him post game…I don’t know who he thinks he’s fooling. At this point most people aren’t buying it.After sleeping on it, I wonder if clearance to play after the concussion protocol does not take into account additional stress on the brain in live action. Which could account for Rocco’s obvious loss of consistent accuracy since returning. He’s not just off, he is so far off sometimes that the ball is not close to anybody and not intercepted. I think it’s time to consider a step back and further evaluation.
Agreed, but unless we want to be a service academy or Georgia Tech we need to have enough of a passing game to actually have an "offense." And even those teams pass a little bit.The running game has actually been really good.

Jesus, that's awful. It's bad enough to say that to an adult, but terrible to say to a kid.Oh my gosh, that brings back flashbacks. The number of times I said to my dad “I didn’t mean to do that” followed by his reply “well, you didn’t try not to” is too damn high.
