Why was Levelle Moton never mentioned?

Do people like Moton because ISU played them 2 years ago and there was an injury to his son during that time or what is the reason?

If we hired another 14 seeded coach from 2014, would people be happy?

I'm sure he is a good guy, but if he lands this gig. Wow.

If we do hire him, it would be one of those instinct hires- where something about him tells the committee that he's the right guy.

It will help if he comes out crying at the interview. We like that kind of stuff. It makes us feel that the guy is passionate about his work.

I would like him a lot more if ISU hadn't put dropped 93 points on his team. What he has done there is very impressive, though.

well that game was about the best game I have ever seen an isu team play, regardless he is a hell of a coach and whoever gets him will be lucky, but they play to slow, although my guess is he could play a lot faster given some horses

Hes not getting the job, dude can flat out coach. He's not a fit here though, not now anyway.

I really would enjoy this hire as an assistant coach. I could see TJ coming up to head, while keeping Levelle on the side

I like the guy's fire and he can obviously coach. The jump from low-mid to Big 12 makes me nervous though.

Would be unbelievable if we can get him on as assistant to be a leading candidate when TJ bolts.

Good point. Maybe that was the whole point of interviewing him. To see if he would also be a good fit as an assistant at least. You hire TJ and then you have already interviewed Moton and can just add to the staff. Would be a great move, as he has head coaching experience and is a defensive guy.

Thread bump...

LeVelle Moton just took his NCC team to a third straight MEAC Conference Championship for the third straight season.

Obviously I'm not sorry we hired Prohm instead, but some Power 5 or even a regional mid-major school has got to get this guy. Great coach.

Tournament championship. They have an overall record of 18-15 so far this season, and finished in third place in the conference season. Sorry, unimpressed.

Well, yeah...

The MEAC is a one bid league. Only the tournament champion goes to the NCAA tournament. They've done it now for 3 straight seasons.

The low/mid major conference tournaments are absolute pressure cookers compared to the Power 5/6 tournaments where roughly half the league make it in. He's led his program through that gauntlet three straight seasons now and has come out on top.

Reasonable minds can disagree without being disagreeable. You're allowed to your opinion, but I think a lot of people would disagree.

Moton and NC State would have been perfect for each other when the Wolf Pack were looking for a coach in 2017. Moton seems like he would do well staying in the Carolinas.

Moton needs to prove himself at a higher mid-major. Either that or get their regular season record to improve at NC Central.
