I know this may be a little early, but my fiance and I as well as a couple buddies are going to Boulder for the CU game. I was wondering what to expect? I heard the CU fans are brutal (which I will enjoy). Who else is planning on making the trip? Anything we must do?

Im debating whether or not I have the cash. My uncle lives in Denver and routinely takes on the Husker invasion so a few buffs wont scare him one bit. Trick with CU fans is to stomp their sandaled feet if they get close.

As of today, myself and my dad and probably my brother and nephew are planning on going down from Steamboat Springs that day. Never been to a CU football game, but I'm guessing it's probably better-attended and a bit more rowdy than the Iowa State-CU basketball game I went to a few years ago there.

On the TV, basketball games at CU look like there might be 30-40 people in attendance...

I am going with wife and few buddies. Going to chiefs vs broncos game that Sunday also. Should be a great time.

Has anyone been to a game there before? I have not and wondered what game day is like. I'm guessing a whole slew of Bieniemy jerseys!

A couple things:

For people that don't have tickets, there will be tons available. Right now, CU is running a special for this weekend's game of 4/$60. As the game gets close, you should be able to find deals like that.

There is an Alumni Association party being held a few blocks from the stadium at the Millenium Harvest House.

Additionally, The Nadas are playing in Denver the night of the game in Boulder for those that enjoy seeing them.

Of course as a K-State fan I'm over here on the board checking out the KSU/ISU talk, but saw this thread and thought i'd give my $.02.

I'm heading to the K-State/CU game in November and have seen CHEAP tickets already out there for the game. Like someone said before, as the game (KSU vs CU and ISU vs CU) gets closer the price of tickets will get lower and lower.

Went out to Boulder in 1998 to see the Cats play. It WAS my worst fan experience as far as an away fan in an opposing team's stadium, until a string of bad MU games in Columbia. I'd say now it's a tie.

If you are going to the New Belgium Brewing Company, here's a useful hint. GET THERE EARLY! I tried to go there last year around 2pm and all the tours were full for the rest of the day AND the place was packed (I believe it was on a Friday). If you don't get in there, there is a Budweiser plant about a mile away north (or go there too). FREE beer after the tour.

Folsom Field is a decent stadium, and Boulder is a fun town. Tailgating SUCKS. I think I tailgated on the roof of a parking garage the last time I was there. Just way too spread out, not a lot of interaction with other fans.

Oh yeah, and CU fans can be huge d-bags too. So it's probably a push. If you ski or snowboard, the weekend is definitely worth it.

Everyone planning on driving? Or flying? Frontier has a price right now out of Des Moines for 199 bucks...

My cousin lives out there so I could make him drive around but also wouldn't mind driving, what are you all doing?

I'm driving in from Utah. If you're coming from Iowa and are low on cash, I don't know why you wouldn't drive...sucks going through Nebraska but it's an easy trip.

We are planning on flying. Looking forward to seeing some other Cyclones. Drove down to College Station last year and that was fun. (Minus the actual game) Will be proud to tell my kids I saw Bo Williams first carry as an Iowa State Cyclone in person. :jimlad:

Already have reservations for the brewery tour.

We may try to buy tickets from a scalper. There will plenty of tickets available and I'm guessing that getting 4 wouldn't be too difficult.

We have four going...have been to Boulder twice and lots of fun! No problems. I always scalp tickets and have had good seats. The ISU function at the Harvest House is fun and the campus is beautiful. Didn't notice much school spirit, they are at a low right now. Just hope we can get a win there for once. PM me is you have a questions that I can help with on hotels etc.
