I have 95 dumbs since 2020...so the dumb button hasn't really worked for me. I had to laugh because like 10 of my first 15 dumbs are from surly.

I rarely use the dumb button either, but felt like this thread deserved a drive-by.
If something is legitimately a dumb take, I’ll call it out- or if after discussing a topic for the better part of a day a poster is just digging in and being obtuse, Ill start calling something dumb. I generally don’t use it outside of the cave, but some posters in the cave (you know who you are) just go through and dumb a post without explaining why the think the post is dumb, then subsequently delete posts to improve their reaction score- that typically earns an insta-dumb from me.

I've only used the dumb icon a handful of times. And, it's often the case of an 'opinion' which is not only factually ignorant, but slants to harmful information.
There might be nothing funnier than people freaking out over someone dumbing their post.
This and it’s a pretty self explanatory button.
At least most people here don’t go back and delete their posts because they can’t stand to have their reaction score so far in the negative unlike a certain poster.

It means optimistic but often in a sarcastic way like “good luck with that actually happening”.
Snowflakes are beautiful, unique and they serve a purpose. Sorry you don't want to be one.
And that serves what purpose? I'm not sure it actually makes you feel better, because you seem kinda grumpy. And, yes, judgy.
"Dumb" does nothing to improve the situation. If you hold knowledge in the palm of your hand, you need to share it with the person, nay, the very universe.
Enlighten, not beknighten.
I do not use the dumb emoji but I have used this. Mostly wait for them to post more they do the job for me.
Repetition. If you can't make your point in a couple of posts or continue to harp on the same thing, it's a dumb post or maybe a dumb poster.
