What's up with Womochil?

who in the world talks HS smack?!?

My all-time favorite thread (that I can't remember the title) was a thread where someone took a shot at Woodward or Granger (the town not the high school) and it blew up! The defender of whichever town it was couldn't take it...I laughed so hard!

Not sure why...but your comment made me think of that post!

I'm a Jeff grad who now lives in Marion. When I first heard the Womochil to ISU rumors, I thought maybe he was doing what Don Knock from Kennedy did a few years go when he went to ISU to finish his masters and helped out with the football team while he was there. Or was Don an actual graduate-assistant? I don't know for sure.

I think Womochil took a leave from his teaching job and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that is specific to him. I think all teachers in Iowa can take a year off and be guaranteed their position back. I know a teacher in the Linn-Mar district who is doing this now but I don't know if the leave is paid or not. Or perhaps each district has its own leave policy. I think a lot of teachers use it to consider a position in the private sector and see if it works out or not. Maybe Womochil needed a break and asked someone at ISU if he could come hang around and help out a bit. I have no problem with it, if that is the case.

I'm now an outsider looking in but when I visit Jefferson now it feels like it is much more economically downtrodden than when I went to school there. Not saying Womochil didn't contribute to his own lack of success but my impression, and it is just an impression, is he also hasn't had much to work with.

I grew up with Jim he's a class act. Only spoken to him a couple of times at coaching clinics since I moved from Vinton in HS. I have a hard time believing Jim's lack of of success at Jeff came from lack of effort. He's the type of personality people gravitate towards. Getting out of a bad situation will do wonders for him and he'll be an asset to the program. Put your trust in CPR he got a good one here. I heard he'll be helping with receivers.

I call BS. Since you have only seen him a couple of times since HS, you have no idea what he's done the past 25 yrs. I too grew up w/him and played many sports alongside him. Matter of fact just saw him at a Bball game in Vinton 2 weeks ago.

This is the story. As CydKar mentioned he is being forced out at Jeff. He is in the midst of a divorce for chasing the Jeff VB coach. This how he came to Jeff in the first place. He was messing w/a teacher/coach at Williamsburg and followed her to Jeff. He has always had issues chasing someone elses wife/girlfriend. Happy his wife finally said enough.

Womo will never learn his lesson and we do not need him on an awesome staff. He makes bold statements as he has always wanted to be someone. We need role models ad coaches and he is not a good one. Couldn't keeps his hands off the co-eds. We don't need a Pelini on our staff.

Jim graduated from HS in 85, you graduated from college in 94 care to clarify.

Teachers can take a leave of absence but they don't get paid. The difference here is that Womochil is getting paid from the CR school district. Which means it has to be a medical leave of absence. This could also happen to someone being investigated of criminal conduct but there is no reason to believe that is the case here...like someone earlier stated...most likely exhaustion and a convenient way to get him to resign HC position at Jefferson.

Thanks or the link. I went back and read all of the 'minding my own business' threads. Those things are classic.

If he posted those daily on twitter, he could get a book or a sitcom out of it like 'Bleep my Dad Says'.

The first one was the best, as it took quite a few people some time to figure out it was all made up. They must use Axe instead of Old Spice, though.

According to the CR Gazette, Marv Cook interviewed for the CR Jeff job because Womo "left last month and is working as a volunteer coach at Iowa State."

This situation is getting increasingly weird. Womo isn't listed in the University directory, so his "volunteer" status is plausible. Jeff has been terrible over the past 5-7 years, so I'm sure he wanted to get out, but how badly? Would he really quit his teaching job to merely volunteer? There has to be more to this story...

Matches what I've been told. The volleyball team sucks balls as well.

Vinton class of 1985. Principal Figg, FB coach Timmerman, BB coach Koch, Baseball coach Hanson, Track coach Huelman. Is that enough?
What position did you play in FB?

Trying to figure out who I am......Sorry didn't play. Too bad you can't run back to Womo w/any gossip.

I want to see a program on the rise keep rising, NOT bring in a so so coach w/so much baggage he can't even do his job.

ISU can and will do better.

Why do you think his job at Jeff went so bad? All the baggage he has. He lives in a world of drama and chaos, and that is what the fb program was like at Jeff. A change of scenery will no change that.
