What was your 1st car?

I could never forget this car. Plum crazy purple 1966 chevy super sport. The car was totally cool, the purple paint job...not so much. It was the first of many, many different sports cars to come.

I have got to be the old codger of the group, but my first car was a BEAUTIFUL 1948 Plymouth 4-door, straight six with 3-speeds on the column. I was working in a grocery store during high school and bought this beauty from an old couple in town. I paid all of $30 (yes, $30) for it and drove it hard.

By the way, I recently was going through some old stuff in our basement and found the window sticker from the first brand-new car I ever purchased. It was a bright yellow 1973 Volkswagon Super Beetle. The price on the sticker was just a little over $2,400. My how things have changed!

I had a VW bug with a rolls-royce front end (fiberglass, by the way). Got me toughened up enough to be a Cyclone fan.

63 catalina 490, loaded. pushbutton transmission. Belonged to my grandmother's sister. Got it in 76 with 28,000 miles.
what a sweet ride...

'84 Mustang Convertible Blue w/ White Top. Quite possibly the worst looking Mustang to ever roll off of the assembly line. But no matter what, chicks dig a drop top! I'd drop mine, and they'd drop theirs.

Judging by the fact that you used that statement I'm guessing that that never happened once!!! Just playin.

1990 Chevy two tone 3/4 ton, regular Cab Chevy Silverado. It was in near perfect condition when I got it.

Mine was a 1984 Ford Ranger. It was a 4 speed and I had the biggest speakers you could have. We called it the Lone Ranger. It was a great truck and I kindof wish I had it back.

1966 Chevy Caprice with bullet holes in the left rear door. It was stolen once and the deputy shot at it to force it off the road.

We called it "White Lightning"

98 Ford Contour, actually a great car for a starter. Had quite a few recalls but no problems until about 140,000 miles. Crank shaft censor wire vibrated all of it's insulation off (that's what she said) and anytime it would get remotely wet I couldn't get the thing started for a least 4 hrs. It would just short out, but I figured out that it only shorted out when I hit the brake peddle so times that I knew it would do it I basically came up with elaborate routes to work to not have to stop. Took 5 times in the shop for them to finally figure out what was wrong. At about 150,000 miles the tranny gave out and I had it replaced. I eventually sold it to a coworker who wanted a beater for work purposes and every time I fixed the car I was putting more into it than it was worth. But if given the choice between having a brand new car or my contour magically rolled back to 0 with no problems I'd take the Contour in a second.

1997 Grand Prix. Worked great until.. i went up to a stop sign and the breaks went out on me. I sold it..to a classmate of mine. About a month later it started on fire haha. Ok that's not funny but it was at the time.

Whats funnier is.. he lived almost 8 blocks from the firestation. It took them 17 minutes to get there. Which then.. the car was a total loss.
