I’m allergic to kiwi. If I eat it my eyes swell up and itch really bad. Is that kind of what happens to you. All other fruit I am fine with

Nope, not really. I live in a constant state of allergy but on top of that fruit makes my throat swell up and I start hacking up a bunch of ****. They prescribed me an EpiPen but nothing has ever been that bad where I needed to carry one. Just uncomfortable.

Allergy tests are what’s prohibiting me. I was tested for the fruits/ grains below and came back positive for all of them listed. It was a range but this is everything is was tested for. The explanation that was given to me was that my seasonal allergies were so bad they transitioned to food. I can’t do fruit, beer and have to watch myself around stuff like Clif bars and such.

On top of this I’m basically allergic to everything they test for but dogs and dust mites. Literally everything green.

Apple
Banana
Barley
Blackberry
Blueberry
Cantaloupe
Orange
Pineapple
Raspberry
Rye
Strawberry
Watermelon
Wheat

Negative for:
Bakers Yeast
Rice

Have you ever been tested or suspected autoimmune disease?

Nope and I know nothing about them. Nothing has even been suggested to me about them either. Just that I should be taking allergy shots but the four other members of my family have come first, financially. Them ***** are expensive and I’ve never had the time. I’ve just adjusted my diet accordingly and kind of learned to feel like **** and deal with it.

Yeah shots would be great, I'm assuming insurance won't cover? I'm obviously not a doctor....just a bit of a pet hypothesis that having multiple allergies (which are by nature an overreaction of the immune system) are connected to autoimmune issues. Especially if you weren't always like this. Lots of women develop autoimmune issues mid 30s or after a pregnancy.

I wanted to ask this question in general to the internet, so this is a good spot for it.

Anyone have any experience or know anyone that takes Atheltic Greens? It seems they advertise on a shitload of podcasts and youtube channels I'm subscribed to. Sometimes the ad reads seem pretty convincing from the hosts.

My levels are 800-1050 right now and I’m 48. If you are running at 2-400. That’s normal for a male above 40 but still sucks. You really should just buy it and get your levels up. It’s a crazy difference in quality of life.
I was considering it. I'm not sure how expensive it is.

The Deadly Doll's House of Horror Nonsense: But Is It Gluten-Free?

I couldn't just leave that alone.

Never heard of it...I tend to avoid things that get advertised so hard but that's just me.

Gut health is important though.

Flintstone vitamins lol

On a serious note - The only vitamin type thing I take is the Citrus flavored Airborne gummies when I feel a cold coming on. I eat the **** out of them, like an entire bottle in a couple days, I eat them like candy.
Always keep a stash of those. First sign anyone in the house is getting sick, everyone takes them. Seems to work.

I also have constant allergies but not to food. I am so sorry. I was going to ask about an EpiPen. Now that husband is working mostly full time at home, I take the dog out for 2-3 hours at a time during his more important calls and I have to take my EpiPen cause of what happens with bees and wasps. Sometimes if I have Benedryl I am ok too, depends on what stings me.

Also have perfume allergy and smoke is an asthma trigger so have to take rescue inhaler even to football games. And also ragweed, pollen, etc.

I was going to suggest some vegetables but if your green allergy includes them, some of those don’t work either. Bell peppers are very high in Vitamin C and the red, yellow, and orange more so than the green. Potatoes for K and fiber. I eat a banana every day so I feel for you on the fruit. I love arugula but that may be excluded as green. This is a good time of year for squash.

Hope you can find some foods you like that don’t make you ill.

Biotin plus Keratin
D3
Vitamin E
Evening Primrose Oil
Collagen

I'm increasing the D3. I was diagnosed as low in the past and, well, winter is coming. I'm hypothyroid; my hair grows fast but I have the thyroid thinning on top hair and my nails split easily, so I've been taking Biotin, Vitamin E, Evening Primrose Oil and Collagen for that. It has helped a little.

You learn a lot about hydration when you run. When I trained for a marathon I literally pee'd clear.

I learned about hydration from playing 36 holes a day in 100+ degree heat indices. Drink 12 beers and a **** load of Gatorade and never need to make a stop in the trees.

This is long term advice but one of the better things you could do is give up gluten, dairy and processed sugar for 4-6 months and then reintroduce some of the fruits to see how you do with them. Your gut lining is most likely in pretty bad shape and avoiding those things can really help. Read the Whole 30 website/book and follow those guidelines. Many, many autoimmune issues are do to our gut lining being trashed.

I take Testosterone. Have for 8 years. If you are over 40 and you are not. You really need to investigate doing it. It will change your life. I am not sure why it's not more popular. Maybe it is and people are just embarrassed to admit it. My doctor encouraged it years ago. Now my nurse just orders my prescription. So easy. I don't take the shot. I take the pills that melt under your tongue.

It's not more popular because people don't want prostate cancer a few years after taking it.

This thread has me reminiscing on the good old days when products with ephedrine were just everywhere and easily obtainable. Could even just get straight ephedrine tablets. The shaking was worth it when I needed to cut 10 lbs in a week before spring break.
