You always have a chance with a great QB, but a great OL can make your QB and RB's look a lot better.

I think DL is paramount. The QB situation is crazy but I think someone will step up and take the job. We need to be able to stop the run much much better than we did this year IMO.

i like our DBs. lots of depth. i figure LJ and Reeves start at CBs, and there are quite a few guys battling for both safety positions. plus we got a couple good recruits at DB. LB we are solid for now but could use a little depth. i really hope rony nelson steps in and dominates! if so, then our d-line could be pretty good with rump, neal, lattimer and a few other guys returning. o-line is gonna be good and have depth. TE may be a worry. we got guys that could be good at the posisition, but alot of people are gonna want someone who can play like franklin.

TE had better NOT be a worry! We have like 8 of them or something? Between QB and TE, we have about 15 guys. It's ridiculous. If we don't have a decent TE or QB on the roster, then our scouting needs some SERIOUS help because we're wasting WAY too many schollies on those two spots at the expense of the D-line.

Defensive line. If you're line cannot get pressure on the QB, then its going to make the job for the secondary and LB's in coverage a lot more difficult. Our line was able to get pressure against Texas and we saw the results

We lost 0-14 to a Missouri team that was averaging nearly 30 points per game. My vote goes to improving the 0 points scored !

and they dropped a TON of passes...as did we. Weather helped us BIG time there.

Our DL needs more help than anything. Good DL would make the linebackers even better, and help the secondary immensely. We made no plays in the backfield, had one of the bottom 10 pass rushes in the country, and had no rush defense. Offense doesn't have much of a chance when they have to go 80+ every possession.

A better defensive line is the answer to most problems. I'm surprised that noone has mentioned the Safeties. Granted a better defensive line helps out the LB, CB, and safeties...but the last few years, our safety help over top is terrible! Sandvig and O'Connell were not good safeties and Sims often came up too hard on play action.

Really? I thought O'Connell was one of our better defenders and Sims was a solid safety. He couldnt catch a ball to save his life but was good in the run game

The weather did not net in an advantage imo as both teams struggled with it.

Defense doesn't have much of a chance when your offense cannot move the ball or score. We lost the game 0-14. We need better play on offense the most.

Unless someone plans on abducting Terran Benton and taking him to Mexico, he's the favorite with LJ to start at CB.

ALL of them

i would say that on offense: the receivers, running backs, tight ends, and tackle positions.

on defense...definitely the defensive line, and the secondary are prime examples where rhoads needs to upgrade to have any chance of winning 6 games and going bowling again.

Oh yeah special teams have always sucked and needs vast improvement.

You could be right when you say "All Of 'Em!!!!!!!!

You don't think there's any chance of Benton being moved to S?
I don't see it...i think it would be a good move though. Benton has great size. He would probably have to bulk up 5 or so more pounds for Saftey. If Young can beat him out at CB or do well enough to hold his own, i wouldn't mind Benton moving to saftey.

Defense is going to need alot of improvement, but i believe this offense is one pocket passing QB away from being able to put up 28+ points a game.

One QB, One RB, and a bout 3 WRs and a TE

I dont care if we give up 100 points. I cant stand to sit there and watch us score between 0-10 points in some of those games.

We need DL, another LB or 2, Safties, A qb, Rb, TE, many many many many many WRs, and.

We have a nice punter and ok kicker. We have adequate CBs.

Obviously, DL, OL, WR, and QB all need improvement BUT...

We have to STOP leaving so many DAMN points on the field.

PLEASE give me a consistent kicker.

The kicking game wasn't the only place the 2010 squad was leaving points on the field. Dropped and over/underthrown passes that would have been first downs (and yes, TD's count as first downs) are all potentially or actually leaving points on the field. It would be nice to have the luxury that some of the elites have. Their PK's kick a hell of a lot more PAT's than FG's.

I think that QB and DL need the most improvement. Although they aren't in as bad of shape, OL improvement could probably do just as much for the team though. If you block well enough a blind grandma can just about keep the chains moving running the ball.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh: This offense needs soooo much more than that. Besides both Herman and Rhoads have stated time and time a agin that we need a QB that can make plays with his feet as well as his arm. There is a reason that we recruit QBs that can run. A pocket passer fits in this offense like a square peg in a round hole.
