What did you do with your first paycheck?

I bought a $1000 foosball table. Wish I still had it.

Wow. I think my first post graduation job paycheck was about $270.

Bills and living. I can't wait to get myself a car I can be proud of and take people in...maybe next year. That is unless I convince myself to pay off more debt instead.

One of my life goals in college was to someday own a car less than 10 years old. (Somewhat ironic based on my avatar) I met that goal 14 months later when I pick up a sweet 1979 Pinto wagon.

Definitely have fun with it, you've got every paycheck ever after this first one to spend like an adult.

Yeah I have a '97 Civic that usually gets 35 mpg. Love the cheap driving but I just spent $230 on new tires, exhaust system is rusted out (estimate was $280 to fix), has been rusting above the left rear wheel well for a few years and now it looks like the clear coat is starting to come off the hood.

Other than that it runs great and obviously gets great mileage. Just hope it lasts until next summer sometime.

My wife went and bought me 2 more suits, dress shirts, a some ties from JC Pennies with it. I had been on the job for about 3 weeks and I believe my coworkers were starting to catch on that I only owned 1 suit and not that many ties. When you have to wear a suit every day, it really is amazing how the dress shirt and ties can mask the suit.

As a 22 year old in 2000 who had never made $10/hr doing anything, my first paycheck was bonkers. It was a solid job with good pay, but my very first "real job" paycheck included salary, signing bonus and paid moving expenses. I don't have the stub anymore but it was a little north of $7K.

It felt like I had more money than I could spend. That feeling didn't last long. The foosball table was more than worth it; it had numerous hours spent on it by many, many people. I wonder what happened to the rest of that money......
