There was a bit of crankiness on the forum in October about "only" being co-favorites with KSU but I think the top five or six spots are going to be way more competative than I thought. Still not a fan of KSU's talent on some nights but when they are all going they can be pretty good. Or not a game later.

Of the top group ISU and Baylor have not so far lived up to expectations but believe ISU still will (talking reasonable expectations). Not sure if Baylor bounces back to compete. Don't know the story with them this season.

West Virginia played tough against Texas on Sunday. Lost 78-73, but had an opportunity to win towards the end of the game. Drama King Vic got a technical & it almost cost them the game.
That is impressive. Anyone thinking the Big 12 is down or weak will get a big surprise. Whoever wins it this year will have survived a dog fight.

Def agree. I’m anxious to watch TCU this weekend. As I’ve not been overly hyped by them, but they are starting to make me take notice. The team that could be scary if they score is WVU. We already know their D will be tenacious. Like you I think KSU could be an up and down team depending on their shooting (sound familiar?). It’s def going to be an entertaining season with multiple non-contenders capable of doing damage.

She was the centerpiece for the team last year but never seemed to get it together. Maybe this year she will…although karma may catch up with her.

She missed all but three games in Jan and Feb last year when she broke her finger. Did average 19.7 and 9.7 for points/rebounds. A smidge short of a double-double average.

My observation/point circled around watching the team…when she played last year they didn’t seem to have any cohesiveness…lack of team chemistry. Especially true when she came back at the end of the season. She did a lot of sniping , etc…

LSU "entitled" fans started leaving the game when there was less than a minute left in the game--thinking they were going to lose (I don't think they led throughout the entire game). LSU started a comeback & they stopped in the aisles. LSU ties it up & sends the game to OT... The camera zoomed in on them. (I bet KM will find them .lol)

LSU wins over Stanford/ 94-86

It was truly a fantastic comeback. I was there to see it. Not only did quite a few fans get up to leave in the last minute as it looked impossible, there were many who had already gone out the doors. When they became aware that the game was going into overtime they wanted to come back in and the door keepers let them do it. I heard through several that they allowed it so they could go back and scream for the home team to give them an advantage. There was a huge amount of people standing on the walkway when the game ended.

If the creeks dont rise by Sunday I plan to be at Dickies Arena in Ft Worth to watch the surging Horned Frogs play South Carolina. I have a feeling it should be a good game. Though I suspect SC will win.

K-State beats up USC-Upstate worse than we did while the Arizona schools both drop clunkers today.

Man a few years ago Arizona was in the national title game.

The Kansas State 86-point win over South Carolina UpState was curious. Anyoka Lee did not play at all. Wildcats only played eight players. Looked some and they have only been playing nine, with Lee, last couple of games versus cupcakes.

BTW, Sundell racked up a triple double with 13 assists in playing 32 minutes against the woeful Spartans in a game where she probably should have played maybe 20 minutes.

They may be an injury or two away from having issues like TCU did last year. They only have ten players who have played this year out of a 14 player roster. I know the one Glenn sister is out for non-basketball reasons and another out for the year after knee surgery. Not sure about the others not playing.

Comeback heavily aided by some obvious non-whistles.

I looked and according to ESPN KSU has 14 players on their roster. To play only 8 in a huge blowout win like this does not speak well for their coaching decisions. Oh well maybe they'll let them off the bench in a 100 point win game?

I know CBF always wants to give all a chance in blowout wins. Those players deserve the time on the floor.

The only "choice" was Lee not playing. My point is they don't currently seem to have a bench. After that they only had eight players available, hence my question about having a short roster.

Only ten gals have played this year. I get sitting Lee considering her injury history but after doing that it looks like Mittie only had eight player actually available and healthy to play. Looked a bit more and with Lee not playing 6'-5" Gisela Sanchez would certainly have played if she could have. Assuming she is injured. Brylee Glenn is out for the season. Mikayla Parks is out for the season with an ACL.Alexis Hess is our for season following knee surgery. Finley Ohnstad , FR, is red-shirting.

For the year they have only had 10 players available and not for all games:

There's no way KSU wouldn't completely clear their bench at some point in a game like this. In the game story, Mittie made reference to having a very short bench tonight. This is an issue with injuries or other factors keeping players out of games, not a coach refusing to play the rest of the players.

Mittie did admit to playing Sundell more minutes because she was close to a triple double. Maybe we should have played Emily the whole game -- could have gotten her a quadruple-double given she had 7 steals in 20 minutes.

Dug into KSU injuries a bit more and updated my previous post. They've played a few games this season with only three guards available. Yikes. And that's for what I considered a guard dominate offense after Lee the last couple of years.

They have a limited bench and no deep bench at all for end of games.

A couple of thoughts. 1. We wore Upstate down for KSU. Kidding aside, as others pointed out we played everybody and nearly every imaginable combo during that game. 2. Woof…AZ and ASU Woof…

I didn't want to make a separate thread for this and was too lazy to keep scrolling for a WNBA thread that might work. BUT, sfgate.com had an article on Kate Martin (Iowa) who was selected by Golden State from Vegas in the expansion draft for next season. I thought it was interesting that she got the biggest response from everyone they chose. Also, Julie Vanloo (former ISU recruit) was chosen in the expansion draft by GS.
