Walking Dead

Some folks spent all summer analyzing these, it was hysterical.

Yea, and my initial guess was Abraham and it came to pass. Never gave it another thought.

Main clue was most of the group was looking scared, Abraham was looking defiant.

A second beatdown, and it being Glenn, definitely caught me off guard.

Can you imagine the uproar if Negan beat a pregnant Maggie to death?

What else do you want them to do?

Decide how they want to end the show and start steering the ship towards it. I'd just like to know that there's a point to all of this other than misery and gore porn.

Bos brought up Game of Thrones, and it's an apt comparison. It too is a beloved show based on a literary work, but rather than drag out the series for another 5 years (which they could have done given it's popularity) they've decided to give it an end point to shoot for

If they do something with that, it would be good. I just don't know that they will. I think the upside for Eugene's story is pretty good.

I would also say that I think shows like Breaking Bad, True Detective, etc. have lead to unreasonably high expectations for me, especially since Sunday night TV is pretty good right now. TWD is kind of an afterthought. Take Shameless, for instance. Every character is somewhat repetitive but within that I think they do a good job of still making the characters grow even though they keep doing the same ****.

Like I said, I'm not going to stop watching but it's mostly because I want to see how it ends at this point. I hope I'm proven wrong but I can't really think of a show that kind of flattened out and then was brought back from the dead, so to speak.
Depends on the photo.... ;) But yes, I have seen some with her further back. Some folks spent all summer analyzing these, it was hysterical.

Yeah - they kept popping up on my newsfeed.

Myself and one of the guys I work with figured it was going to be both Glenn and Abraham. Our theory was Glenn first and Abraham when he tried to stop it.

Youre most likely right. I just thought the maggie one made the most sense considering where she was positioned.
Again, what makes sense to you wont make sense to others. For one, Negan is more complex than randomly killing people. I think JDM did a great job as Negan. Some changes to the written character, but the charisma and charm are there despite being an obvious physco. There is a reason he didn't kill Maggie and a few others there. You will also find out why Dwight has half his face burned off. This arc should be a wild ride. I do fear the guy playing Carl isn't a good enough actor to pull off whats to come so that will probably be changed from the source material somewhat or cringy to watch.
And to the person suggesting they kill off Rick or Carl, madness. Rick is the best actor on the show and if they killed Carl, kinda hard to convince the leader of the group to do what you want isn't it?

Rick sucks. You're probably right on Carl.

So here's a couple of basement dwelling bloggers that not only decided to quit watching after last night, but had to write a 2000 word essay on it first to let the world know they were quitting.

I'm one that is done after the premier. I'm not going to post a bunch of complaints but that was just a lot to handle. I see no reason to keep watching in hopes of the goriest possible ending of a villain. I can spend my free time better elsewhere.

I have a question. TWD is on on SUnday nights. When you guys say you have all this free time to do something else what could you possibly be doing? I mean, I have basically no energy left to do anything but watch TV. Maybe you're not doing the weekend right.

I thought I read that they filmed literally every single character getting killed by Negan in that scene just to see which ones would leak.
They showed everyone getting hit in the head when Rick was thinking about everyone else getting killed, so they did film it.

YES. What this show is missing is an end goal and direction. This is a post apocalypse world and the writers are wasting a glorious opportunity to do whatever they want. What if they find a true settlement with remanents from the government that are just closing in on a cure/vaccine but need something/someone that is cross country, hell across the ocean. Just something/anything to take advantage of the fact that this is a new world and something to give the show a purpose.

With DVR, it doesn't really matter what time a show is actually on. Personally, I don't have much free time and even less tv watching time. I have to really enjoy a show to invest the time to watch it every week. TWD was on the edge last season and Sunday's show pushed it off my list. That was not fun to watch and I can spend my time better elsewhere. I don't fault anyone for continuing to watch though.

Probably because the last 4+ pages have just been arguments. Probably burn out.

I don't think I've seen this thread less active the morning after a new episode.
We watched Westworld at 8 then Walking Dead after to be able to fast forward through commercials. I didn't get into this thread to avoid spoilers. Looks like it wouldn't have mattered. One post the entire hour!

They may have sucked me back in with Ezekiel. That seems like an interesting story. A "leader" that is secretly another one of Negan's *******. Carol and Morgan don't know that Negan has the group do they? How long until they find that out?

Carol and Morgan do not know that the gang was jumped by Negan. They may not be in contact with Alexandria for a while though.

I think Carol and Morgan find out by Carol wandering around, or by Morgan at an 'exchange'. What happens when those 'owned' by Negan rise up but on different fronts (groups) and at once? This season is starting off great, and it reminds me of the early episodes of the gov. Although there is more at stake with Negan.

I think the endgame of this season, or next, will be an alliance between Alexandria, The Kingdom, and The Hilltop against Negan's Survivors.

I'm not sure how long it will take though. They don't have nearly enough intel on the Survivor's setup.

This is my guess too.
