Walking Dead

I think the writers know. They have stories planned for all of the other characters in the coming seasons, so they know.

They wouldn't have added in the "Taking it like a champ" line if it were one of the smaller characters. That tells me it's Abraham, Daryl, or Glen.

I don't think it's at all a stretch that they haven't decided on who is going to die. Television shows change storylines mid-season all the time, let alone between seasons. Obviously this show is not dedicated to following the source material. They could have several ideas on how they want things to go. I guarantee you they dont have the story line locked in for multiple seasons.

The season was really good until the last 3 episodes or so in my opinion. They attacked a settlement, did not bother to check for intelligence on the actual size of the group. Then after being totally idiotic about not understanding their enemy they go on a bunch of boondoggles and get captured.

They are obviously outnumbered and out matched with Negan's group, and I don't get how they could not come up with a better timeline than to treat the characters like they are idiots.

Yeah, that is what bothered me. The last couple episodes (and the plot of the season finale to set up Negan) relied on the characters making a series of seriously boneheaded decisions. These mistakes were clearly to drive the plot, rather than what the characters should really do - c'mon, these guys are very smart by now, these mistakes were out of character or required changing a character to drive the plot (Carol, Darryl running off).

But, Negan's intro was awesome and sets up a great story line for next season. Excited to see that.

Ha...we don't have time to get into the tactical issues. Good lord...its amazing they made it this far with the mistakes they have made this season.

The acting between Negan and Rick saved that episode from being bad.

The most annoying thing about TWD writers is their tendency to make Rick and his group or their enemies alternate between being geniuses and absolute morons depending on what the story calls for. Maybe it's just the product of a mediocre writing room, but other shows don't require their characters to oscillate so wildly.

Okay - so THIS is funny...

If the shot is from the POV of the victim, this would be what Carl would see... ;)

Just read this article over lunch. Interesting....

They said on Talking Dead that there were clues in the episode as to who it was...so I went back and re-watched the end last night and, interestingly enough, that's the part I focused on...seemed to be the only part that would give any clues. But I couldn't make it out what was being said.

It actually makes the most sense if you think about it...having the cliff hanger like that was the only way to get any drama out of it if they did follow the comic book.

I disagree. No matter what happened at the end of the episode would have made for a holy ****-like opening to next season. Let's be honest, most people that watch the show aren't trolling message boards in search of clues or possible story lines. This is what is hurting the show in my opinion, they are trying to trick the comic book readers instead of doing what's right for the show.

Wow, the audio is actually quite disturbing, I love it! It does make me point in the Glenn direction, which means it won't be Glenn. Unless that's what the writers want us to think. I have a feeling this will be like the "Battle of Wits" scene in "The Princess Bride".

I don't believe Negan's plan is viable long term. At least, if I saw a friend or family member beaten to death like that, I'd be plotting my revenge from that point on.

Fear at is a ***** though. Hitler did alright when convincing people to follow his dark plan. Get a large enough group of fearful and like minds it can snowball quickly. Rick needs a bigger army and smarter plan than just quick revenge.

Well there's your problem.

I'm really interested to see where they start next season. Usually after each season, months have gone by in WD time. I wonder if they'll do that and just show the results of the skull bashing through flashbacks. Or will they pick up right where they left off with everyone still in front of Negan. If it's the former, I'll be done with the show for good.

I would prefer if they pick up where they left off Sunday night, with no time passed. I could live with it told in flashback. What would make me batspit crazy is if we go on a meandering 90 minute tour through some character's backstory right out of the gate...ala Morgan becoming zen Morgan.

Get ready for it.

This gives me a great idea for a TWD poll. Stand by.
