Walking Dead

So I just read an article where the disease/infection has mutated to be more transmittable either through food or water or something. That's the deal with the zombie with the bleeding eyes and where the kid got sick. Guaranteed the new black guy has it too as they showed him not feeling well as he laid down to sleep at the end of the episode.

Rick washed his face with the water in the barrel at the beginning of the episode.

I thought this was a good season opening episode. It gave more questions than answers, but now it has the whole season to answer them.

What made the kid sick? Was it the pig, water, or air.

It also showed the community made a nature progression since the last season. They have a reinforced gate, farm, and shower!!!! Plus they set up a council that is more open to allowing new residents.

I thought the black guy was just an alcoholic with the shakes.

I was actually surprised to see people down on this episode. I loved that we finally got to see them forming a real structured group with tasks and plans, (guard duty, watcher killing duty, coordinated and planned supply runs, farming, teaching the kids, etc.) That was way more interesting than seeing the Governor act like a maniac. Also a great sideplot with Rick and the crazy lady, that was really sad and well done. Some good action with the zombies from the helicopter wreck.

I'd originally though the Patrick kid just got really sick and died, then managed to pollute their water and turn into a walker in the process that will cause havoc in the prison. But after stopping here, I think the posters are right that there is something going on with the virus becoming easier to catch, hinted at with the pig (thought it was just normal disease too), Patrick, and that walker with the bleeding eyes. Maybe when they start to degenerate and turn into goo and bleed out the virus goes air or waterborne?

It was when Darryl licked his fingers before they shook hands. So gross.

Are we sure its even the zombie virus killing them? Could be any number of communicable viruses. Rats spread all sorts of stuff and a run down jail would be full of rats.

Yeah, that is the big question, is it zombie or just normal disease? Lots of people living together at the prison, they seem to have it together for the most part but still would be in danger of disease its not like they have fully maintained and operational modern water sanitation infrastructure (The shower and wash water looked jury-rigged), plus heaping piles of zombie corpses outside the fence seeping into the groundwater.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SHOW DON'T COME HERE AND ***** ABOUT IT!

People who actually like the show want to talk about it, not read posts from people talking **** about it.

Kinda lame episode but probably just setting up the season.

Not sure what the hell was going on with that kid at the end. Did he become a zombie without being bitten?

Everyone becomes a zombie when you die, you don't have to be bitten. Is this your first time watching?

So what was the significance of the zombie Rick saw by the fence with the bleeding eyes? Was it just supposed to be creepy looking or is it somehow connected to what killed Patrick and the pig?

And it might have been wise for Carol to start the kids off with wooden knives or something similar.

I thought it was a cool episode/good opener for the new season. Indeed, the most interesting event/"bringing up questions" is how Harry Potter got sick, and is it a "Zombie-illness?" I happen to think that it is not, just a random sickness/outbreak that will eventually wipe out a ton of people, turning them into "Walkers." But if it is "a zombie illness" it is just going to reinforce eveyone that it is inevitable, and the end of the human race is coming soon.

Yeah, I don't know what to think about the Walker without eyes? Who knows where they are taking this storyline. (I've never read the comic) But, I would like for them to run into another doctor/or someone trying to figure out a cure or something....
