Updated Roster is Posted

Eli King is my pick to be the surprise guard that plays a lot of minutes
I agree, though I'm not sure that it will be a surprise. He clearly has the athleticism to compete right away. I think he'll make some otherworldly plays that has fans dreaming of the possibilities a year or two down the road.

The level of workplace formality has never recovered from the pandemic at my company or with clients.

Hallelujah.

TJ can wear the short-sleeved polo as long as he wants. No more suits.
Just wear one (if he wants, of course) every so often. Gotta try it on once in a while, just to see if it still fits.

8 of guys for this upcoming season have senior designations. Will have alot to replace after this next season.
Hopefully we will see more stability in the roster in the future. At this point it is what it is. It is probably never going to go back to the way it was with all the NIL and open transfer rules.

We will have more stability. It was TJ's first year and now this is a roster of players the staff has picked. It won't ever be all the way back to 4 year development of the sit our transfer era pre-NIL but this past year was an outlier in player turnover in my opinion. TJ first freshman class just arrived on campus after all and I could see all 3 as 4 year foundation players.

We all thought Tyrese Hunter was a 4 year foundation player...

True, but the 3 freshman incoming aren’t as highly ranked (and command NIL) level that Hunter is. They are expected to be 4 year college players. The staff has developed relationships for years and trust TJ. Look at Grill’s loyalty for instance.

I believe right when TJ was hired he said he wanted to focus on 70+ rated guys who would stick around and develop. Was only going to recruit higher ranked guys if there was already an “in”.

Can’t compare players that the staff have cultivated a relationship with during and after their commitment and a player that they convinced to come after the previous coach was fired. Not to mention Hunter’s recruitment was during Covid so he could not have the usual visits to campus or with the coaches.

Most of us thought he would be around for 2-3 years, and then off the the NBA if he could improve his shot. Well things have changed with the NIL. Won't surprise me in the least that part of the reason TX shelled out the big bucks was so they didn't have to face Hunter 2-3 times a year.

I think Hunter was always a 4 year player, but he got wind from an AAU coach of his teammates cashing in and he was worth more so he transferred.

I do think for the most part the market will settle, it’s new and crazy right now. But I’d assume after a few years it will slow back down. Obviously most of the elites have always done it, and some more schools(donors) will utilize it more, but everyone who splurged this year probably won’t continue to do so, especially if the player they paid doesn’t pan out or the team still isn’t winning.

It will always be a problem, but it should become less of one after a few years. There will just be new players in the game.
