Cory Land was 27th in his class but has been hurt most of the year. Voelker was 52nd the same year. They get 1-2 top 100 wrestlers but usually not top 20 guys.

But yes no sure fire All Americans outside of Keck which makes them a very good dual team but not as good of a national tournament team.
Intermat has UNI ranked as the #7 tournament team.

I’m sure the UNI coaching staff is looking at 33 the same way our coaching staff is looking at 41, 65, 285. Probably the underdog but can pull of the “upset”.

I would go as far to say there are 9 toss up matches, the only one that’s not close to a toss up is 184 for UNI.
I’m sorry, but 197 is absolutely not a toss up.

I can get on board with everything else except 184.

They’re sure fire to get 20+ points from Keck, but outside of that it’s a question. Happel and Downey are both ranked pretty high. But I think they are both ranked at their absolute max potential, and there is very good possibility neither places.

Somehow Happel is rated 4th which seems incredibly high. He has losses to Tagg and then Schwartz just a few weeks ago.

Would bet they’re outside the top 10 which is not to take away that they’re still a very good team.

Does it show how many points are coming from Keck? He's a bonus point machine
I don't think they do and I don't know enough to do the calculation. But if Keck made it to the finals and Happel to the semis, as their ranking indicates, that would result in a lot of points from those two alone.

In that scenario yep for sure. I just have a hard time seeing Happel make it to the semi's I have him in the 7/8 for best case

Tough to know what a "sure fire all American" might be, but they have Happel at #4 and Downey at #5. I believe both have been R12 in the past. When paired Keck and a few other guys who will score a hand full of points, it puts them in good position to be in the top 10 which is a really good finish for that program. Obviously, they have to actually perform.

And 4th in dual rankings.

I just think they have 5-6 blood round type guys and they could go 0-6 in that round. Happel was the 7th seed last year and lost in the blood round, Downey was the 5th seed same result.

Maybe not a true toss up but 2 years ago Gaitan came into this dual as a true freshman against a top 20 wrestler and pulled off the “upset” at the time. Voelker is beatable.

Very much agree this is possible. Just pointing out why the rankings didn't fit well with the comment. We will see--everything is on paper only at this point.

Why wouldn’t have Bockman bump up. Have him weigh-in at a weight that will allow him to go back to 184 but Big 12s. Makes a lot more sense then to wrestle 2 top 5 guys after mono. It will be interesting to see if they consider it, if he is good to go.

If he’s still recovering from mono just sit him.

Wrestling him against two top 15 197 pounders while maintaining a weight that allows him to go 184 at Big 12’s would be incredibly tough too.
