UNI 2/16

When was the last time we hosted UNI? I feel like recently they've all been at the McLeod Center

Thank you- yes I watched the interview when it was released. Didn’t give me a good feeling. We will know a lot by who goes this weekend.

Who were the highest nationally ranked guys in the lineup coming out of high school?
Not sure what Keck, Happel and Realbuto were ranked in high school

Keck was #30 in his class by Flo. Happel was #33. I don’t see Realbuto in the top 100.

They redshirted Realbuto. But mainly they recruit Georgia area and lots of kids out of Iowa that aren't hire ranked and they work hard and develop.

You are going to have to wrestle 7 minutes hard against UNI.
This is it. Their guys are tough as nails and wrestle extremely hard. Typically these UNI guys do not preform great at nationals. Their lack of talent comes back to bite them a bit. But come regular season you better be ready to go, or they can knock off some really good wrestlers.

Cory Land was 27th in his class but has been hurt most of the year. Voelker was 52nd the same year. They get 1-2 top 100 wrestlers but usually not top 20 guys.

But yes no sure fire All Americans outside of Keck which makes them a very good dual team but not as good of a national tournament team.

In the UNI duals I have seen, I have been impressed with their development of Farber, Realbuto and Simma from last season/season before.

And then obviously you have a former 165 pounder wrestling heavy and wrestling very well.

If UNI is favored in some of those matchups it is only so slightly. Could easily say 41, 65, 285 go in the toss up bucket as well.
I’m sure the UNI coaching staff is looking at 33 the same way our coaching staff is looking at 41, 65, 285. Probably the underdog but can pull of the “upset”.

I would go as far to say there are 9 toss up matches, the only one that’s not close to a toss up is 184 for UNI.
