Need to get this thread going. Does ISU have a shot?

125 - is Terukina back? I’m going with UNI with a decision win here, but Perryman has been wrestling well. UNI 3-0
133 - Frost has bonuses Farber 4/5 times. Going to need it again. Major for Frost. 4-4 ISU.
141 - Frost has improved with more consistent mat time, but Happel has always owned him. Think he keeps it to a Dec. 6-4 UNI
149 - Another really tight match, but Paniro takes this one in a 1 td battle. 7-6 ISU
157 - Match of the night. These guys are fireworks. Like the way Chittum has been wrestling and I’m taking him here. 10-6 ISU.
165 - I think Riggins can get this one and we need it. 13-6 ISU
174 - MJ has won before and we need it again. 16-6 ISU
184 - now it gets tough. Tech for Keck. 16-11 ISU.
197 - Schon keeps it to a decision. 16-14 ISU
Hvy - this was a 2-0 match for Runyon early this year. Going with Herrera to get the td and the win this time. 19-14 ISU.

57-74 are huge matches for ISU. ISU is going to need a lot to go right to win this dual, but the path is there. UNI will be fired up at home.

125 Anderson isn’t healthy, may or may not go. If not it’s Golhofer. If tereukina goes he wins. If Perryman goes give me Golhofer. Anderson wins against either.
133 closer than anyone thinks. Decision Frost
141 decision Happel
149 Decision PJ
157 Ryder has shown he is better at what Cody wants to do. Should be a great match. Give me Ryder
165 Thompson dec.
174 toss up. I like Simma here, could go either way
184 tech Keck
197 possible Major for Voelker if he gets rolling
285 Runyon dec

I expect this dual to be fairly close but there is a possibility we could get blown out

I see this as a best case scenario. I can see a path to victory but don't expect it.
125 - Terukina by dec. If Perryman I think he can win but has faded late in matches. I say its Kysen 3-0
133 - Frost by dec. could be a major. 6-0
141 - Happel by dec. 6-3
149- Pj by dec. 9-3
157- really need this one. I have to take Downey until Chittum shows me he can beat him. 9-6
165- Riggins has looked better of late but don't think he gets this one. 9-9
174- Mj wins by dec. 12-9
184- keck by major. 12-13
197- voelker by major. 12-17
285- I really like Herrera. He lost a close one earlier think he gets this one. 15-17
We lose a close dual. Uni is very good and this could get ugly if we aren't ready to go.

Think the matches will be close, but I don’t think the dual score will be overly competitive, especially if UNI steals 125, 133 or 149.

125 - Dec UNI and I don’t think it matters who for UNI or who for ISU. 0-3

133 - I’ll predict this is a 1 TD match, but give me Frost. 3-3

141 - Happel has pounded Jacob Frost in all fo their matches. Don’t think this is a major but I do think Happel gets it done. 3-6.

149 - interesting contrast of styles. Realbuto will give up his legs but is a great scrambler. Paniro has been very stingy. 6-6.

157 - love Chittum but this is a tough match up for him. Downey just too mat savvy and Chittum hasnt had a match in 3 weeks. 6-9.

165 - going with my gut here that Riggins pulls one off. Thomsen has had some great wins, but I just like the direction Riggins is headed. 9-9.

174 - this is where I think it starts to get away from ISU. Winnable match for MJ and had he been at 174 all year I think he gets it done, but Simma just keeps getting better. 9-12.

184 - really, really tough spot for Bockman coming off of illness. 9-16 with potential for more.

197 - don’t see a path to victory in this match, will be lucky to keep it to decision. 9-20

285 - mat will be a factor here, similar to Pitzer match. Herrera can take him down but will struggle to get away. 9-23 UNI.

23-9 UNI if Anderson goes, 20-12 if he doesn’t.

Iowa States path to victory would be wins at 125, 133, 149, 157, 174 AND an upset at one of 141, 165, 285. Don’t think we can split matches 5-5 and get a W.

Crazy that Runyon was wrestling 174 two years ago and comes back from injury as a top 20 wrestler at heavyweight.

Have to win all the toss ups as E Frost is our only favorite. I am worried this could get ugly fast depending on how 125-149 go.

This will be my first time heading over to UNI for a dual. Excited to see a packed house.

It is always fun there. 2 great staffs that get along very well and respect each other. But both will have their guys fighting tooth and nail. We won’t see any ******** like Keuter pulled against Nebby

Will be a great atmosphere. Should be almost a sellout by now. Also agree with others that the Clones will have to come ready because without toss ups I see wins at 3 weights so far. 133, 149, and maybe heavy. Definitely a chance at some others but will be tough.

It’s a fun dual atmosphere, and there is always a ton of cardinal and gold in there.

My one complaint is the sound system. Sounds like a speaker is going to blow every time it gets loud.

They need a sound system upgrade in there for sure. There are better systems in 1A high school gyms.

Not seeing what everyone else is regarding Farber. Frost handles him easily.
Same. Farber has been wrestling well lately, but look at the history of that match up. They've wrestled 5 times and that trend is in a baaad way for Farber. Farber teched and majored Frost at Cyclone Open and then a month later Frost won by decision at UNI open, all during Evan's redshirt. Then last year Frost majored Farber at CKLV and then tech'd him in the dual.

Evan easy is the right call.

And I don’t see any reason we should disregard his poor performances from December. Frost has proven he’s a significantly better wrestler.

The matches UNI wrestled vs Nebraska and Oklahoma at McLeod were decided by officiating close matches going in the panthers favor. Hopefully a different pair of officials show up and call push outs and back outs correctly

Definitely the better wrestler, but if he bonuses Farber on Sunday I will be a little surprised. That’s more of a credit to how Farber has looked than a slight to Frost…. I love the Frost boys.

someone posted a line that had ISU as 15.5 point underdogs. Boy, I think I’d be all over that.

Would sure hope so, but if we don’t snag an upset or a few of the toss ups it could get ugly.

Toss ups: 125, 149, 157, 174
ISU favored: 133
UNI favored: 141, 165, 184, 197, 285
