My OP just said…. what if Tyrese had played at Iowa. So let’s say Luka Garza was an All Star NBA player out there winning games for his team in the playoffs…. you think he might get some coverage? Probably a full page story and all over TV. Tyrese…. next to nothing. It's a weird comparison, but there are plenty of people that don't like Caitlin Clark also, just like there are people that like and don't like Tyrese.
Never stop being you! Always defending Hawks, and not giving kudos to Cyclones!I dont know what all you guys expect and why you are so upset about CC getting mote coverage.
Tyrese isn't even from Iowa, had a record of 33-35(14-22), was on the court for ISU from November of 2018 until February of 2020, never won an Ncaa tournament game, and has never won an NBA championship either.
Is he a very good NBA player? Yes, probably up there with Tinsley as the best that ever played at ISU, but that doesn't make him the Golden Boy of Iowa St like CC is at Iowa. Imo guys like George's and Monte are alot more indicative of Cyclone basketball.
I haven’t watched local news in decades so I don’t know, this seems like classic little brother talk though. My OP just said…. what if Tyrese had played at Iowa. It’s just the way it is… nothing new for fans of the Cyclones in this state.
That's 100% what it is. There was absolutely no reason to bring anything up about Iowa. Yet he did it anyway.I haven’t watched local news in decades so I don’t know, this seems like classic little brother talk though.
Wasn't Ricky Davis really successful in the NBA? I dont remember people in Iowa talking much about him.My OP just said…. what if Tyrese had played at Iowa. Lol, I literally just said Tyrese is probably the 2nd best NBA player from ISU. It's probably between him and Hornacek now that I think about it, not Tinsley. Stop being so aggrieved by every little thing.Never stop being you! Always defending Hawks, and not giving kudos to Cyclones!
Who? Successful,LOL. How many gold medals did he win? What a loser, Iowa fan and Cub fan.Wasn't Ricky Davis really successful in the NBA? I dont remember people in Iowa talking much about him.

Grow up, what are you 12? Let me gmfill you in, from Iowa, had a very short college career, played like 12 years in the NBA and averaged around 20ppg numerous times. I'm trying to use that as an example of how nobody really gives a **** about how guys do in the NBA as a reason for Haliburton not getting local coverage.Who? Successful,LOL. I still blame Wally Szczerbiac for starting the over-rated smack talk.
I dont know why people still pay attention to stuff like KXNO anymore. If I dislike something I simply stop listening to it.Davis was a good pro but never All Star or Olympic level or close to best player at his position like Halliburton, he was often one of the more productive 6th men in the league. Tyrese and Hornacek are the best pros out of either program by quite a bit. Tyrese would be like a great QB And Davis would be like a great 2nd or 3rd wr option.
Davis could very well be Iowa’s best pro. I’d probably give him slight edge over Evans and BJ who were more one dimensional players. Keegan Murray could play a long time but I don’t think he’s aggressive enough to ever put up #s like those two ISU guards.
Garza got an inordinate amount of coverage for being a basically G league player on KXNO so I can see his point pretty obviously and he’s not just making stuff up, I’m not even in state but I’d hear it when I streamed KXNO. Monte played more college minutes in the state and led ISU to way more wins than Garza, is every bit as Iowan as Garza and has played 12x more NBA minutes than Garza and the first time I hear Murph and Andy talk about Monte’s NBA journey will be the only time yet “pro Garza” talk was a staple for a few years.
This Ricky Davis? What a tool.Wasn't Ricky Davis really successful in the NBA? I dont remember people in Iowa talking much about him.

As for the coverage, they just won a first round playoff series, I don't know why that is something that needs alot of attention.
Now, if Indiana wins a championship or even makes the Finals and Tyrese is an integral part of that run then I would hope he gets some local attention, but they are nowhere near that point yet.
This Ricky Davis? What a tool.
Well I guess this explains why Garza still gets covered. Being from Iowa and leading the Hawks on that epic NCAA tourney run…I dont know what all you guys expect and why you are so upset about CC getting mote coverage.

Continuing to downplay Tyrese I see!I dont know why people still pay attention to stuff like KXNO anymore. If I dislike something I simply stop listening to it.
