Hornacek's NBA career is very underrated. To paraphrase Bill James, players that do many things well are often underrated, while specialists are often overrated. Hornacek was the third best player on many teams that won a lot of games and made it to multiple conference finals and finals. Not to say he is one of the 75 best of all time, but he is a winner. Horny is still 20th all-time in FT% and 49th in steals (and 143rd in points scored). Hali will pass Horny as the greatest Cyclone in the NBA history, but I don't think he is there yet. I think the only concern is durability, Tyrese has missed more than 20 games in a season twice in his first five seasons. Tyrese has established himself as a top 15 player in the league. He absolutely deserved 3rd team all-league last season and was just as good this year despite his stats being down a bit. He is a very efficient player: 30th all-time in career effective field goal percentage (.574) and 16th in assist percentage (both among qualifiers). He led the league this season in assist-to-turnover ratio among players who averaged 20 minutes. Tyrese earned his way on to the Olympic team and is a gold medal winner. He didn't shoot the three well against the Bucks but was otherwise great. His shooting will come around, I'm not concerned about that.

I'm assuming he won't be at games for the playoffs, and will likely be in a suite starting next year.

Did Wally ever amend that statement? Whenever I see him he irritates me.

He walked it back a little.

“Wasn’t my finest hour. He's an absolute superstar"

He was basically a homer announcer for Knicks at the time, I think his timing was great because it was a few months before Tyrese bounced his precious Knicks from the playoffs later that season.

I’m guessing the league let the pacers handle it before they stepped it.

I'm glad for it as a Pacers fan just wanting them to win without distractions.

When you look at records since all star break, their depth, and that they are healthy unlike last year, the Pacers are a truly dangerous team.

The Cavs are SIGNIFICANTLY better than Knicks were last year so it's possible they improved a lot this year with a better seed but can't get back to ECF because of the much tougher path.

Seems rather extreme. Why not just giving him seats right under the basket? Frankly, I'm glad that it wasn't worse, such as interfering with Giannis on the last inbound play which happened right next to him.

I think they need him not in the building to avoid the story as much as possible for the next round.

I like the way that Tyrese refers to his dad as "Pops" while calling him out for misbehavior.

Yeah, as somebody who has followed them almost every game for two years it's a great decision. Indy is healthy unlike last year and if they play to their potential this will be an incredible series.

The Cavs are really good but since the all star break there's not a big gap between the two teams. Both have been playing like top 5 teams in basketball and Indy is not some massive underdog here. Pacers dug themselves a hole early in the season or they'd have been safely in third in the east most of the year.

Cavs were 20-8 after break, Pacers were 20-9 after break.

Pacers sat out key players in last 2 games (1-1) and Cavs sat out key players in last four games (2-2).

Basically in the games that counted these were both top 5 teams league wide down the stretch.
