TX fires Herman

I actually think Sark is a good hire and a step up from Herman. If he brings in an elite DC I can see Texas being back to a 10 win team in a couple years. Hopefully I'm wrong and they continue to be 5 star talent and 2 star culture.
Texas was theoretically a 10 win team this year if you assume they won their missing games

The reports were the deal with Sark wasn’t done yet. Perhaps Sark waited for Texas to announce Herman was done and now he has all the leverage to get an even better deal. Texas is either going to pony up even more dough for Sark or he will pass which would make Texas look even worse than Auburn (no small feat). I’m enjoying watching this from the outside!

At the same place Floyd coached and was “relieved of his duties” (OJ Mayo mess, right?)

He was an alcoholic.Came to practice drunk, missed practice and so on. He was actually worse than Larry. Larry just liked to party with 20 year old college kids. Sarkesian had a major issue. Hopefully he has turned the corner

I know alcoholism is a massive struggle and problem. It runs in my family, many of my family have fallen victim to it and that’s even caused me to be cautious about how I handle drinking in my life. That said, I laughed at this.

Tom is sort of a bad guy, really hard for a school like Texas to have a guy like that as the face of the university.

they did a real poor job vetting Tom I think

Something just seems weird about this entire thing. The timing of the Herman fire, the amount they owe and who they are reportedly replacing him with in Sark (a small upgrade perhaps, but not a home run like an Urban Meyer) and now some reports saying Sark turned it down. Who knows?

The one big problem with Texas is the same issue as another Texas team, the Dallas Cowboys. The old white dudes with all the money can't just donate and get the hell out of the way and let people who know football do their jobs. Texas has let their boosters take over and they are all super impatient because, "We are Texas!"

Yeah, they gave Herman a vote of confidence after the season and they played really well in the bowl game.

I get the firing now if Urban suddenly decided to take it. But you could take this guy next year.
