This thread is fricking weird man. Glad it's not about transfers though because that's the best news if there is no news.
Disagree. There are arguably more potential NFL draft picks on this offense than that year.
Hufford - late round , possibly free agent, but could very get drafted late
Noel - likely drafted
Higgins - likely a draft pick
Brahmer - very early, but shows signs of being a draft pick
Sama - impossible to know but if he develops, has the attributes to be a draft pick
Black - I mean, again, impossible to tell but the dude started on the OL as a true freshman. So presuming he gets better in his time here - then there's a chance
Because you said they were better than what Rocco had.Why are you talking about potential? Montgomery and Butler performed at a level to be drafted that year.
Butler dropped easy passes. That is why he did not make it. Couldn’t count on him. Made the great catch. Drop the easy catch on a 3rd down.
Abu is an NFL guy. More potential than Montgomery IMO. Higgins could be a pro. Jaylin Noel. Rocco had some weapons this year. The TD’s in the last game were more about great runs and YAC. Rocco distributed and got the ball to the playmakers. Rocco is great. Young. Too soon to say he is better than Purdy.
How many times did Purdy loft it up to Butler and he came down with it in coverage? Rocco didn't have that luxury.
First team Big 12 Montgomery > Freshman Sama
2018 supporting cast > 2023 supporting cast
Pretty much this.Rocco has Jaylin Noel. Plus Jayden Higgins. He has weapons as well. Brock did not have a talent advantage in teammates. Comparable. Plus Brock was a true freshman. Rocco has a great start. Redshirt year beneficial.
LOL.2018 supporting cast > 2023 supporting cast
Noel is too small, has inconsistent hands, and makes too many questionable decisions to play in the NFL, but his size his biggest problem.Because you said they were better than what Rocco had.
Montgomery - sure.
Butler- no.
Noel and Higgins are good enough to be drafted now. Late round, sure. But could get drafted.
Hufford, can get drafted. Will he, IDK. But hes good enough to be a later round draft pick.
So there are 3 players right there that can get drafted potentially right now if they declared.
Rocco has Jaylin Noel. Plus Jayden Higgins. He has weapons as well. Brock did not have a talent advantage in teammates. Comparable. Plus Brock was a true freshman. Rocco has a great start. Redshirt year beneficial.
Butler's stats his junior year were almost better than Noel and Higgens combined.
The question isn't whether Rocco is better than Purdy, he isn't, but the players around them.
1) Darren Sproles on line for you. Deuce Vaughn on line 2. All 5'5, 176 which means he's realistically smaller than that.Noel is too small, has inconsistent hands, and makes too many questionable decisions to play in the NFL, but his size his biggest problem.
Higgins has late round NFL potential, but he isn’t there yet. He would go undrafted if he declared now unless he ran a 4.3 forty(which he wouldn’t).
And LOL at Hufford being an NFL prospect. Not a chance. The kid shouldn’t have even been starting for a power 5 college team, but he was the best ISU had.
I think a record has been broken with this thread!! There is now 3-4 times as much content about how good our current players are compared to our past players as there is about the transfer portal I think we need a thread monitor!1) Darren Sproles on line for you. Deuce Vaughn on line 2. All 5'5, 176 which means he's realistically smaller than that.
2) Higgns will probably be a late rounder. But disagree he needs a 4.3.... there are NFL receivers right now he's comparable to
3) same with hufford. hence the late round or FA i said.....
Brock also had significantly fewer attempts after his sophomore year because we were feeding the All American standing next to him, but I regress...Regressed? No, I would say that he didn't improve on the trajectory arc in our imaginations. I'd also say that once the staff realized what they had, they limited the scrambling/run portion of his game which limited his effect to an extent.
why so many transferring out of K-State? I understand Will Howard but not sure on the rest.Outgoing Transfers into the Portal per 247sports as of 12/1/2023 @9:35AM. Currently only including teams with 7+ players.
