Wigginton played 30 minutes (scored 11) last night and was in at the end of the game. Horton-Tucker played 24 minutes (scored 7) and was on the bench at the end.
I love Talen and his upside going forward, but Wigginton is better than him right now. The fact Lindell got the nod at the end of a very close game, on the road, against a Top 10 opponent, a game crucial to the season's success of the program, says who has Prohm's confidence right now. I think it is clear that our best line-up right now is the following...
Weiler-Babb
Haliburton
Wigginton
Shayok
Jacobson
...until, at least, Cameron comes back at 100%.
THT should still play 20-25 minutes per night -- but Wigginton should start.
Haliburton cannot create his own shot in the half-court, but he is way too much of a high-efficiency player to take off the court right now. He contributes without demanding touches, like Shayok, Wigginton, and Horton-Tucker do, with his excellent defense, spot-up shooting, by keeping the ball moving, not turning the ball over, and he is developing a Naz-like ability and flair for finishing or finding an open man when streaking on the fast break.
You can never have too many 3&D wing types, and Haliburton is already a good one. The fact he had six assists and zero turnovers last night certainly helps.
