Thoughts from the Cy-Hawk Game

I'm going to watch the game again, but our our O-Line is terrible. Foster was abused and apparently Dowling either didn't last long at C or JGJ playted the whole game there? On one of the sacks, we left our Center 1 on 1 and it took Iowa 0.5 seconds to beat him. Gross.
Our D-Line was decent, but the pressure on Iowa's QB was pretty non-existent.
Oline needs to synch, with the schedule we have coming, we don’t have time to be baptized by fire.
My thoughts on tailgating, etc
1. We got there early like at 9 am.
2. We had 3 kybos about 50 from our spot. The university shut all the grass lots and we had a open in the fence so they were easy access.
3. I don’t know what is funnier people watching at the State Fair or seeing all people going up and down Melrose court. It was a site to behold.
4. Denim skirts must be out. Some girls started a drinking game if you saw a denim skirt you had to drink.
5. They are no longer called fanny packs but now called bum packs.
6. Must have missed the mosh pit cause there were a lot of muddy people.
7. Concession lines were horrible and took forever. Especially around the north end zone.
8. Saw Niang, Naz and Sage on the sidelines.
9. Really surprised at the vocabulary of their fans. They only know four letters in the alphabet and they repeated those letters 40+ times.
10. Saw a few incidents drunk Iowa girl fell and bashed here nose. State fans helped her until medical personnel arrived. A couple idiot State fans started a fight and got talked down by a few hawk fans.
11. Traffic for the most part was fine except the drive over from Ames. NASCAR’d it all the way around 85 mph.

Let’s get one thing straight, the defense did NOT run out of gas, nor did they get beat up front except one drive. Both teams had one drive in the game, Iowa got a touchdown, we got a field goal. We had that moment in that drive on the one yard line where you make game one mistakes and that was the false start. We had another first game mishap that led to Iowa’s field goal and that was the 15 yard shank of a punt, Iowa gained one yard after that mishap and kicked a field goal. ISU lost 4 points and gave up 3 points due to first game jitters. Let’s have iowa agree to play their first game next year in week 2 and we will see the results!
