Texas is only going to sign X amount of players anyways. These guys can't all go to Texas, and they're always going to get their pick of the litter. Always. ISU and even Mizzou will always make their program go off of guys that Texas didn't want.
You are just completely contradicting yourself in the bolded areas. For starters, Texas can't air HS games. They can air highlights, but guess what? That stuff is available to anyone. Absolutely everyone can watch the LHN. It's not like some kind of secret den of highlight videos that other coaches will never see. That's just stupid.
You clearly have lost the ability to look at the LHN in a logical, reasonable manner. Apparently everyone has. Nothing you've said in the above paragraph is based in reality. The more I see people upset about the LHN, the more it drives home my suspicion that the people who are the most upset about the LHN haven't thought it through whatsoever.
Where do the HS highlights come from? Game film.
And what happens to the game film they DON'T use for LHN highlights? Think that might benefit TX recruiters? Do the ISU coaches have access to that?
Don't think about the stuff they put on the air - think about the stuff they do behind the scenes. If I'm TX, I'm turning my video staff for LHN into a "feeder system" of scouts to augment my recruiting. It's like having the whole TX HS system as your farm team.
Of COURSE Texas is going to get its pick of top recruits. But UNIGuy4Cy is exactly right - the LHN makes finding, evaluating, and wooing them even easier than before.

Maybe I am miss understanding the argument, but I believe the fear isn't that UT will be able to have more game film of HS players. It is that they will be able select games to play on their network, those games could highlight a potential recuit, which would then give UT the advantage that no one else has. Putting a HS player on TV. Pretty sure that is what the other schools are worried about. No one is worried about game film, call the HS coach and ask for the game film they will give you that. But a player recruited by UT on the LHN before he is ever with UT is an unfair advantage in recruiting.

Until anyone can get the LHN, it's an overblown issue.
Texa$ is like being married to a high maintenance woman - great in the bedroom, not so hot in the restaurant....and without Texas, the Big 12/8 is no better than the Big East. People need to realize that Texas is an asset to everyone's revenue in the Big 12. Without them, we probably dont have a new scoreboard, a football facility being constructed, etc. Everyone in this conference has lived off the brand Texas has brought for the past 12 years, and now all the sudden they are sick of Texas. I can see the likes of aTm and OU being upset with the LHN, because they acctually compete for the recruits that Texas is trageting, but the remaining schools rarley, if at all, compete with them for recruits, and those other schools are banking from Texas. ISU knows their role and has not barked up a storm about this. Schools like Mizzou feel some sort of entitlement here, and I dont get why.
And what is that?
OU and UT have a big party in summer and pick out their top 25, so they have commitments while CPR si working commit #5 or #6. If LHN is on after that, they are already committed for the year.Texas is only going to sign X amount of players anyways.
