Kids clothes, produce, paper products, food court, and gas on the executive membership nets me the entire value of my membership! Plus the cash back on the Costco visa card!

Love that place..

Already a good deal busier than it used to be.

There's been a rumor out there about another one coming to the Grimes area.

No way that happens. Costco drug their feet bringing a second store to the metro, there's no way they open a third. I could see a Sam's club though.

Love Costco, seems like it's nearly impossible to get out of there spending <$200, but I keep going back. Frequent purchases:

- Clothes - like Gunner said, almost always find SOMETHING that I want/need. Wife makes fun of me cause 99% of my wardrobe is either ISU or from Costco (sometimes both).
- Rotisserie Chicken - bigger than any supermarket, and cheaper at just $5
- Kirkland Vodka/various bourbons
- Dunkin ground coffee
- Claritin - wife uses it year-round & it's way cheaper there
- Protein powder
- TP/Paper towels/Laundry + Dish detergent
- Pizza/Hot Dogs from food court

Also buy a lot of bigger ticket items there - electric lawnmower & leaf blower, pool, iPad, just bought tires last week, rented a couple cars thru them.

Gas doesn’t count toward the executive membership 2% back, right?

I might've thought similar but some clued in people on urbandsm (local development forum) seem to have heard it's happening.

With how slammed the wdm one often is, it could easily be supported.

When we go to Costco of Ikea, somehow our house shrinks, and our checking account needs to be replenished from savings

So they changed the muffins instead of six giant muffins you get eight that are traditional size. I don’t remember how much they were before but yesterday they were $6.99 and you didn’t get bogo.
I asked the gal checking us out about the muffins, and she said they were getting a lot of complaints that the muffins were too large. Now they have an 8 pack and are smaller, I told her the size was not the issue for us, but the fact that you could not purchase just one 6 pack, but had to purchase 2 of them. They let you purchase just one 8 pack of muffins.
We had the executive card for years, but finally switched over last year to the cheaper version to save some money.

Used to have a Costco across the street from my office. Ate more $1.50 lunches than I care to admit. Hot dog and a drink for $1.50? I can't beat that. Add a slice of pizza and it's $4.

Man I would be shocked. Costco wants their stores slammed, that's how they turn their inventory as quickly as they do.

Just purchased a 2-park of 5 quart synthetic Kirkland auto oil for $30. It would run you at least $60 at Autozone.

While Costco Executive Members earn an annual 2% reward on qualifying purchases, this reward does not include gas purchases at Costco. However, the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi offers cash back on gas, with 5% on gas at Costco and 4% on other eligible gas and EV charging for the first $7,000 combined spend per year, then 1% thereafter.
