Texas at Iowa State predictions.

Well then how the heck did Texas end up winning this game? Maybe it was the refs...

Because they are a good team and they were at home. Just like ISU will be on Tuesday. By your logic, you best be expecting Texas to win in Lawrence on Saturday, while most the country will be picking Kansas, mainly because of a thing called home court advantage...

PlayerS, plural. Those are teams with a big strong player, singular. And Eric Mika? Come on.
And let me beat you to the punch on Baylor. They "bigs" play like little guards, wandering around the perimeter all game. The only true big they have is Gathers, whose total offensive game is the put back of an offensive rebound.

Then how the heck did Kansas win @ISU?

How many teams has ISU played that have big strong players? Two? Kansas and Texas and they haven't gotten a chance to play Texas at home.

Texas has Ridley and Ibeh who I would call bangers inside. Holmes plays on the perimeter a lot.
Michigan has multiple big guys not just McGary. So did BYU
Iowa has multiple bigs
Baylor has Jefferson and Gathers who are both big inside players and Austin blocks 3 shots a game.

As long as we box out Ridley and the other forwards after the first shot I think we will be just fine. I think Texas gets more second attempts than anyone else in the conference if I'm not mistaken. If we rebound well defensively that will put us in good position for lots of transition points, and I think that's where we find our mismatches. If we lose this at home it will be severely disappointing.

At this point, I think defensive rebounding is perhaps more important to establish than our fast break (and one leads to the other as you mentioned).

Texas isn't the best shooting team, but they're athleticism and size bother us. We matchup up very poorly with them and they'll give is fits for sure. Hoping Hilton gives us the edge we need. Physical/long/athletic teams are nightmares for our guys.

IMHO, We've not played well the 3 games. In the TCU game, we played poorly defensively, and the 48-point effort by Melvin hurt him the last two games.

Hilton magic goes on hiatus and we lose this one: 82 - 77.

When you say "Texas at Iowa State" I say "Mihm Facial"-

We had a helluva team that year and we won that game, but only after digging out from a double-digit deficit in the first half.

The Longhorns, like everyone else in the Big 12, is different away from home. I think Hilton Magic carries us to another win against a top 25 team.
