Tamin Lipsey Commits

Man, that young man is one of a kind. In so many ways.

The video from Tamin playing as a kid is unbelievable. I think some parents would be helped by watching it to realize their kid isn’t going to be playing college ball someday.
Iowa high school BB didn't have a shot clock for I think the entirety, or at least most, of the time Tamin was in high school. Watching him pick apart a high school defense with no time limit was something else!

If my maths are correct, Tamin currently has 85 career wins. There’s a real shot he passes Niang for most wins all time by the big 12 tournament.

Winning out he would tie @ Utah and break it at home against Tech.

Tamin has played at least one full season of games injured in some way. That should qualify for a medical redahirt

Nary an NBA chance.
Thank whoever, for a forever Cyclone.
Smart enough dude, he'll succeed at any next level, NBA aside.

From his high school tapes, I thought he would be too small, too slow, and not a good enough shooter to be an impactful P4 player.

I'm kind of an idiot sometimes.

Not excited about this one. Not a good start to the TJ era.

Coming off a bad knee injury. Too small for the Big 12. Poor shooter. "Nepo baby" hometown kid.

Good story and all but doubt it works out.

I've been keeping an eye on the MBB All-Time Wins record for Lipsey too. He's missed four wins in his career (@ TCU a couple years ago and then 3 this year). The current leaders:
1. Monte, 100
T2. Georges/Naz/Matt, 98
5. Lipsey, 92
6. Ejim, 88

ISU has 7 guaranteed games left (5 + Big 12 tourney + I'm assuming NCAA)
Quoted and updated with Lipsey as the 5th player ever to win 90+ games. Tamin is also 60-5 (92%) in games played at Hilton, which I have to imagine is either a record or very close to it.

Gotta be some sort of 4 year record. As far as percentage goes, Tinsley and Horton were undefeated at Hilton in their 2 year careers at ISU.

After looking into it a little I'm pretty confident it's the record. Only one four-year stretch in Hilton had more home wins overall (62 from 2011-12 through 2014-15) but that senior class had no four-year players.

I wondered about Naz since he played ~4.25 seasons, but he only played in about half of the games his freshman season.

Do you have Nos. 7-10, too? I'm curious.

I just don't see it. Not a big time athlete and too undersized to start in the Big 12. His rating drop leads me to believe he peaked early, so he'll probably be overwhelmed by the jump in competition. We're in trouble if he has to start.

I like this but I'm not sure I would include that second one. Didn't he drive into trouble and then slip which resulted in being without a dribble and no where to go? It wasn't like he got a steal or picked up a loose ball if I am remembering this play correctly. There are a hundred other better examples.
Yeah idk, don't remember. Just a photo, wasn't reading or researching that hard into it.
