NBA: Summer 2018 Off Season Thread

Actually, no. I follow the T-wolves.

Look at how many players from the Lakers/Celtics teams from their matchups in the 80s are in the hall of fame.
I guess the Celtics are absolutely loaded too. It’s going to be fun to watch LA/GS western conference finals then seeing the winner take on the Celtics in the finals.

It is an issue and I wish they would get rid of the max deals. Make it a true free market. If a team wants to sign Lebron for 60 mil a year then let them. It would make it a lot more painful for these superstars to all congregate to a few teams.

But the players union would never go for it because that would mean there is less money for the other 90% of the league.

You must be a warriors fan. This isn’t just a super team, this is 5 of the top 12 players in the nba on 1 team. This is a mega team
Which is exactly how I would build my roster playing NBA, or any sports, video game as a kid. This is the realization that not only could I be a GM, but that these super-teams can exist irl - I love it.

Boogie to GS crushes Kawhi’s trade value. Lakers know adding him isn’t enough anymore. Next season is already over. Wait until next summer.

Teams falling all over themselves to add a cancer with an injury.

This is Golden State. If the guy is anything less than healthy on a reasonable timeframe, an effective player, and a gentleman, they will just kick him to the curb.

They do not need him. The power relationship is 100% the other way around this time.

Ok, can we move on to the 2019 free agency period at this point?

NBA is such a joke. Why even play the regular season? Might as well just give the Warriors their rings now. Why would anyone even want to watch the NBA?
The regular season is the only thing I can enjoy anymore just for the sake of watching a decent basketball game. And that includes never watching Golden State during the regular season. Playoffs were brutally predictable and it only gets worse every year.

It’s hard to rank Draymond and Klay because they’re in such a great system. Put them in Phoenix or Orlando. Would they still be top twenty? Klay maybe. Draymond hell no.

Hell, give me Embid, KAT, Lillard, Donavan Mitchell, Simmons, Tatum over klay and Draymond, as overall players. This is spot on that they play in the perfect system to hide their flaws.

May will kill it as a sniper any where, but is limited offensively, and Draymond will get exposed on a lesser team.

Your move, Lakers. Waste a year of prime LeBron? Trade whoever it takes for Kawhi. Trade whatever you have left for Lillard or Kemba. Sign Dwight (just guard someone, rebound and catch lobs). Sign Tyreke Evans. Sign Avery Bradley. Sign Marcus Smart. Do whatever it takes. You’re the Lakers. You can afford a big luxury tax bill.

Here's a fun game...
You get the whole Eastern Conference to get a starting 5 better than Golden State.
Kyrie
Derozan
Butler
Giannis
Embid

I still don't think that'd be enough to beat them!

Butler is with Minnesota who is in the Western Conf.

It’s ******* annoying. All this talent in the West makes it easier for Western teams to tank as well.

Not to wish ill on anybody, but this season would get a lot more interesting with a season ending injuriy to Curry. Durant is such a whiny little ***** anymore, I’d love to see him fail.

Boogie very well might not ever be the same.

How is Draymond going to get exposed? He’s an elite defender who can guard almost anyone in the league. He is the guy who makes their system work defensively. He’s also a great passer and rebounder, he might not be a big time scorer but he’s great at everything else.
