NBA: Summer 2018 Off Season Thread

Looking at the Cavs roster and salaries, it's going to be hard to get out from a lot of these deals. Love, Hill, Thompson, Smith all have contracts that I don't see how you move those. Korver you can move. Keep Hood, take a look at him as a primary scoring option, see what Nance and Osman turn into in the next year. Get Sexton a ton of reps. Not easy to see a good route to competing in the next two years, mainly just have to hope for more lottery luck.
Atlanta has Cleveland's 2019 first round pick thanks to the Kyle Korver trade.

Thibs making a move. Actually a solid one, wolves need some shooters.

@JonKrawczynski Anthony Tolliver's one-year deal is worth $5.75 million.

@JonKrawczynski Anthony Tolliver saw the way the league was evolving and changed his game to go with it. Took 365 3s last year and knocked down 43.6 percent of them.

@DWolfsonKSTP Looks clear where Thibs needs to get him 3 point looks. 63.2 EFG% was darn good, overall. He can guard multiple positions too, top-10 in league last year in charges. #Twolves #AllEyesNorth

This means Bjelica for sure will be moving on, right?

Yes, The T-Wolves renounced his rights as a result of signing Tolliver. Probably good for Bejica, he flashed some good play but never got the feeling Thibs trusted him enough to get meaningful playing time. Fresh start for a new coach could help his career.

Yeah, could be a nice low risk/high reward signing for a good team.

Bill Simmons podcast fake trade: Lonzo and Deng for John Wall.

Hard pass. The Wizards definitely need to shake things up and they would probably take this deal. But no way the Lakers want any part of John Wall with his bad knees and something like 190 million owed to him through 2022. I think Simmons was just ******* with his Wizards fan buddy.

Whoa, surprising... bigger move coming?

@wojespn The Lakers have renounced Julius Randle, making him an unrestricted free agent, league source tells ESPN.

@BobbyMarks42 The Lakers now have $13.8M in cap space after renouncing free agent Julius Randle. Los Angeles will wait to use before signing Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee.

Then this... Lakers will be interesting at least.

@wojespn Source: Rajon Rondo agrees to deal with Lakers.

So there is your starting PG after they inevitably trade Lonzo.

Randle didn't really have a future with the Lakers anyway, and it puts them in better position in 2019 with that free agent class with another one year deal.

Somebody just sounds bit grumps to me.

Nah. I do not really have a dog in the fight. I grew up in Iowa. Never had an NBA team, and I still really do not. Definitely not adopting the Wizards.

I am just enjoying it all and enjoying the Reddit jokes about it. :)

Market must have bottomed out on Boogie as there isnt much space anywhere for him. Would still love to see him signed and traded to the Wizards for Porter, would be a great fit for both teams. Speaking of that Pelicans have to know with out being able to form a contender Davis isnt going to be around long.
