Listen to uni press conference. Seems like they have a lot of work to do since the head coach sounds concerned. Looks like the players aren't adjusting very good to this new spread offense scheme.

We aren't. We are expecting them to go all 2010 Fusker Football & use their RB in a perma-wildcat formation. At least that was what I was told by the boyfriend of the daughter of Mark Farley's barber.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tired more than one guy. I am putting my money on Bailey bc of his ability to run.

I think they're all going to be tired by the end of this game. Tired of getting up off the ground and picking grass out of their facemasks.
It seems like in the past few years UNI has had their offensive linemen attacking our defenders' knees nearly every play with a positive result for them. I could see there being an adjustment caused by players actually having to engage in blocking people instead of just diving at the opposition's legs every other play.
It seems to me as if certain posters on this board are in a competition to see who can be the biggest asshat. Congratulations, I think you're winning so far in this thread, but it's really nip and tuck right now.
Shouldn't matter. If we lose this one CPR is history. Interesting how UNI fans call cyclonefanatic posters out for picking a win yet every single poster on their site predicts a UNI win. It should never, ever happen. However, history tells them that they have an excellent chance.
Glad I wasn't the only one seeing that. It's also not all that surprising to me that UNI Dline has given us issues in past as well...they are always smaller and shorter but that allows for better leverage and that is all playing the line is about. This is why I think UNI will struggle with Tucker...short, stout, and mean.
When CF acolytes repeatedly (in unison, now) say "we should never, ever lose to an FCS school," yet that happens with regularity, do you think that maybe CF folks should acknowledge reality and abandon that theorem? Isn't that like saying mobile devices should never, ever replace cathode ray tube televisions? I'm just trying to appeal to the logic and science mind set of the Iowa State University of Science and Technology -- Science with Practice.
Big 12 schools should never lose to FCS schools. The advantages that they have in every respect over FCS schools makes it so. They have better facilities to draw and train recruits. They have more money to hire (ostensibly) better coaches. Anything you can think of would go in favor of Big 12 schools having the ability to recruit better players, coach/train them more effectively when they are on the team, and scheme better than their opponents in lower levels. Of course UNI and NDSU have blown this up recently, which only makes it more frustrating for ISU fans that the thing that should happen every year - a win over an FCS school - hasn't happened since 2012.
Well, I know nothing about this kid, but at 6'4" & 227#, a coach's son and a solid H.S. record, he could be very solid. I remember a few years ago that a 6' 0" & 190# true Freshman QB took over a Mizzou team just before half time which was behind I believe 24-7 and took them onto a 27-24 victory over our (we all thought anyway) Big 12 Championship bound Cyclones! So we might want to have complete respect for this kid.
I chanced to see Eli play in high school often. He has great connectivity with his receivers and does an excellent job of checking down his receivers. He has the ability to pick a defense apart. He was kept under pretty tight rein in high school and had little opportunity to rush the ball so I'm unsure of his running abilities. His high school stats are outstanding. The worst game of his high school career, I believe, was as a senior against Heelan in the dome. His O-line was unable to protect him against a fierce Crusader rush.

Also, Eli actually turned down an opportunity to move to Florida at the beginning of his Freshman year of HS and focus solely on baseball. This guy is an amazing athlete - excelling (receiving high accolades) in every high school sport he played. His all-around character, his leadership and amazing athletic skills were reasons why I was bummed that he was never offered a scholarship by our staff. Time will tell if it truly was a mistake or not.
