Starting QB for the Panthers?

I am a teacher at Grinnell High School and after multiple conversations with some of our staff this week, there is a 50% chance that Eli Dunne will be the starter on Saturday. One of our former FB coaches talks regularly with Eli and he found out that Eli has shared the number one position all week long. It sounds like Kollmorgen (sp?) has been #3 all week - so we may likely not see him tomorrow. My guess is that it will either be Eli or the Illini transfer Bailey. Thought I'd pass this along - take it for what it's worth.

Sign me up for Dunne starting tomorrow. He might be a better long term option for UNI, but as an ISU fan I'd definitely rather have him back there instead of a guy who's beaten ISU before.

one of the linemen listed is listed wrong. Played TE one season, was told he did participate in game/s his fresh year and then was an lineman last year. That would scream jr instead of soph as UNI had him listed.

Saw a few highlights and they had a smaller guy who really looked like he had a good arm. Don't think they have the line and WR's to fully take advantage but I would not be surprised if he can chuck it around.

This could be taken 2 ways a ploy to mess with preparations or none of the 4 QB's have caught on to the new offense to the level the new coordinator would like. I believe this does prove that Kollmorgen was a better fit for the old offensive scheme......

I'm just providing an updated bit of info so that CF observers can know a little more about the status of the QB situation - especially in light of Farley's comments earlier this week. From the info I was given, Eli has a very good chance of starting or even playing, but Kollmorgen - the one that beat us two years ago - will likely not see action.
Again, things could play out quite differently - just wanted to let people know what I heard.

I've heard very similar things around Cedar Falls as well. Kollmorgen just doesn't fit the new system, not a quick, accurate release guy. Doesn't fit.

Holy cow - are you kidding?! I never, ever have claimed to be "an insider." I have been on here since 2006 and I have only commented about "inside info" twice. Once I had talked to a member of the Indian Hills Coaching Staff (I took a group of High Schoolers there to check out the college), and he informed me that one of their players was very high on ISU and was quite likely going to commit. This thread is the second time I've done that and, if you re-read my post, I specifically said "take it for what it's worth." The offseason (from April to September) must have been quite long for you when you have to result to "eating your own." I'm an ISU alumnus and a die-hard Cyclone fan just trying to give info that I heard - sorry you interpreted it in such a way that you had to reply so sarcastically.

Its not surprising because if it was Kollmorgan they probably would have just put him #1 on the depth chart. Since its most likely someone else they think they can gain an advantage by not saying who won the job.
