Star Wars Rogue One

Those are AT-ACTs...*NERD ALERT*

Lol...yeah. I remembered reading they were the cargo hauing versions of AT-AT but couldn't remember the name. Was wondering if someone would call me out on it, but didn't expect it would be the first post! My nerd cred is solid...I am actually reading Catalyst.

K-2SO in this clip is awesome! Definitely borrowing a little from HK-47. I really hope he calls someone a meatbag.

More pumped for Rogue One than I was for The Force Awakens!
Agree completely. The tone of the trailers and overall look of Rogue looks great. Plus K-2SO trumps 'cute little' BB-8.. Oh look I'm a soccer ball...

Rogue One review embargo has officially been lifted and the reviews are rolling in. While they are general very positive, with some even saying it is near Empire Strikes Back good, it still is running quite a bit behind The Force Awakens for now in Rotten Tomotoes scoring. It still has some time though.

Keep in mind that only 78 reviews are in right now when The Force Awakens ended up with 361 reviews total.

IGN gave it a 9/10

Game Informer gave it 5/5

I don't think it will score near as high as The Force Awakens for several reasons. It's not a saga film, and a different style of movie from the others. The Force Awakens overall was made to be very palatable and a movie with broad appeal. From what I've read the more you like Star Wars and know the lore the more you will like Rogue One. That sounds great to me.

And the non-nerds are apparently liking it as well. Apparently the Vader stuff is very dark.

I look forward to seeing this because in a lot of the cannon stuff (books/comics) he is really feared by those who know him. In the saga films, you don't really see him in a complete destructive way just mowing down non-force users.

I was a little afraid of when the re-shoot rumors began to come out that they would tone it down a little bit with him, hopefully they didn't, but we will see. I am looking forward to seeing it as well.

Is this one going to be appropriate for preteens? Got tickets for me and my two daughters, and now I'm hearing things like "it's dark".

This was always pegged to be a "war film." With that said, many, if not all, war films are darker.
