Shave Before or After Shower?

I don't really shave my face anymore, but I shave my head and clean up my neck and strays above my beard line on my cheeks in the shower. I bought a bunch of Tooletries gear a couple years ago, including a mirror, and it's streamlined my personal care routine.

Anyone have a preferred in shower mirror. Used to have one, but gave up on it. Now I just go from memory. Plavix makes any cut a problem, tho. Wife hates the in sink shaving mess.
This is the shower mirror I use and works great. Had it at least 10 years. Use 3M strips to stick to the wall of your shower. Moved several times and has been easy to take down without damage.

Tooletries makes a solid mirror. I've had mine for going on two years. The anti-fog held up for about a year, but if you take some body wash or shampoo and give it a quick scrub and rinse, it'll stay fog-free long enough to shave.

Coworker introduced me to shower shaving two years ago and it was like discovering something new that was right in front of you the whole time. Never turned back

How do you pull it off? I'd miss so many spots.

I just read through this entire thread and no one mentioned water consumption. Shaving during a shower has to waste a ton of water. Do none of you care?

I shave before and rinse off the excess shaving cream during the shower. We live in the Midwest but should still conserve water.

Do it daily and you are talking a couple gallons. Not sure how long it takes you to shave but about 1-2 minutes and I’m lathered, shaved and rinsed off.

I don’t use conditioner so I probably use less water than those people do.

I take cold showers in the dark so it would be kinda hard to do during. I don’t really fully shave ever, but when I trim, I’ll do it before

I don’t run the water while I’m shaving. When we switched our food storage containers to glass I took two tall plastic ones to the shower. I fill up one with water to rinse the razor and the 2nd container holds rubbing alcohol to store the razors. Storing the razor in alcohol keeps the blade sharp much longer. My mach3 cartridge lasts a month that way.

If I haven’t shaved for a week or so, I will turn the water off since it takes longer because the razor plugs. I use cheap disposable double blade ones. If you turn the water off, you are actually being more water efficient than those who shave after or before.

Electric = before
Blade = after

The electric doesn't slide over wet skin well, so I do that before. But I still do it in the shower without the water running to keep the mess contained. Blade is done in the sink after.

Can't say that there's many occasions anymore that get me to care enough for a clean shave from a blade. Even the electric only happens if I'm going to a place where I care. That may happen once a week or two.
