Idk why Dakitch is ripping our touranment past under Hoiberg. We lost to 1 seed Kentucky as an 8 seed (possibly one of the greatest Kentucky teams of all time), Lost to a 2 seed Ohio State as a 10 seed, Lost to 7 seed UConn as a 3 (Niang going down). Only head scrather upset was last year.

No kidding. I get the unfortunate adversity that's happened since last year, and I really expect a ton of people to pick Iona as their upset pick, but why rip our 4 yr. run with Holberg?
Unfortunately, Dakich could be proven right, and I only say that because of Monte's health. Sucks.

Btw, surely these comments will get to our team, right? We'll take any chip on our shoulder material.... it may not help but it couldn't hurt.

If we can make it to the Final 8 we are going to beat Michigan State and avenge the most bitter loss in Iowa State history-
and bust 98% of the brackets.
payback is coming

Iowa State: In the history of the tournament, few 11-loss teams have ever been better than what Iowa State is this season. The Cyclones played in the brutal Big 12, but don't let that 21-11 fool you. Monte Morris and Georges Niang comprise one of the best 1-2 combos in college basketball.

If we can't beat Iona, with or without any individual player, all coaches should be fired, the AD should be fired and I will fire myself (because I had hope for this season).

I don't expect to be firing myself.

Yeah...if ISU somehow manages to defeat it's tournament demons and make it to the Elite Eight, of course it'd be great to avenge Fizer and Co. but the thought of Prohm against Izzo in matchups, head games, set plays, etc. I think Prohm is a quality coach, but Izzo is something else when March rolls around.

I'm a few hours behind for "immediate feedback" on the field of 64-plus.

Not a lot of major surprises. Rundown:

* Syracuse is iffy inclusion, but not a shock. Should've been play-in (so, if U-M and SU are both in, and only one is First Four, swap 'em)
* Monmouth has a legit beef about snub, but I was quite certain that was coming, just based on history.
* I was most surprised that: St. Bonaventure did not make the field. Bonnies may not have been as highly seeded as I thought (9 or 10 range), but out completely?

Prohm vs Izzo ref bias is the scariest part.

The book on Purdue is that they struggle defending when their bigs are pulled away from the basket. That's a definite problem we will pose for them.

Our lineup with the Niang/Burton combo will be tough for them. It will be tough on the other end though. Glad we have some practice with the zone as that will probably be the go-to defense against them.

Not exactly sure.
I think Purdue will zone us to keep their bigs closer to the rim. They won't want to have one pulled out to the arc to defend georges.

Finding it funny that hawk fans are enraged by the seeds. Some going crazy about Oregon state even. I think there were 7 big xii teams that should get in and 7 got in. Figures isu was a 5, but was lowest 4 so pretty much there. I don't think you can go ape**** over one seed difference. Many thought iowa was a 6, they were 7. Whoopee. When it comes to play in games, if it isn't your team getting in or left out, do you really care?

Question is, if they go zone, will Monte be able to even shoot? But again, Iona first. No sure things in this tournament.

I don't think they will have to go to a zone to do that. If we face Purdue, who very well could do down in the first round, I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince Edwards on Niang quite a bit. Swanigan could guard Nader and Hammonds can guard/ignore McKay and stay near the rim. If we go with Burton in for McKay then we may get some matchup problems, but that lineup is just begging to get crushed on the boards.
